The media could not be loaded. I’ve had my last knife this size forever and it’s time to replace. This is a nice, heavy knife for doing lots of chopping. It sliced through the lemon, tomato, and some cilantro with no muscle work from me. It’s solid steel. It fit my hand beautifully. I have been using a lot more fresh vegetables on a new diet so I thought I needed a new knife. I saw all the keys words, professional, German stainless Steele, you know all the buzz words. This is. Nice knife. It is well balanced, nice weight, about the right size, although I am used to a paring knife and not a professional. I would have gotten it about an inch or so shorter. When I opened the box I tried to cut a piece of paper right out of the box like you see so many people do to show how sharp it is. It wouldn’t cut the single sheet of paper on edge, other than more rip it with the weight of the knife and the downward force. I was afraid it would be dull. I decided to try some different in season vegetables like mushrooms, celery, carrot, cabbage, garlic, you get the idea. It cut mostly good other than the carrot it just didn’t want to go all the way down and I would have to hit it with the palm of my hand. Then the next slice was like cutting butter on the same carrot less than 1/8 of an inch from the last cut. The other vegetables mentioned worked as good as any other knife. Over the years I have purchased several knives. A few were fairly high end chef's knives and cost a pretty penny. While this one isn't cheap, it is certainly less expensive than my previous ones. And it is worth every cent. I often hear tv chefs saying "let the knife do the work for you". I've tried to, but I was never successful. My knife skills always came up short. The first time I used this knife, I finally understood what those tv chefs were talking about. It truly slices through everything like butter. It has cut down on my prep time so much. I don't struggle with the ends of the onion anymore. I can butterfly a chicken breast with ease. I'm able to cut the thinnest slices now. It's amazing. I never thought it was possible.
