Great little camping chair with a back. Could use a small design improvement however. The back is attached by screws going through the fabric, this can cause a lot of tension if the chair is caught or moved by the back, and it can rip through. It’s less about it being dangerous and more about it just holding up. If the pressure put on the screw could be distributed in some way, so that its more spread out the back would hold up better. Mine tore in the first week or so of having it and I plan to repair it. The thing is for the cost, 15$ or so, and the weight, height, and make of the chair- it really was a worthwhile buy for me. The little carry bag it comes with is a nice feature, but the quality of the fabric is very thin. The chair build itself seems very sturdy and I have been happy with it so far, I just wish the back didn’t tear so easy around the screw attachment to the pole. So far I haven’t seen another camping chair at this price point as tall as this one with a back, so this would still be my choice again despite the tear. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We love having these chairs along in case they're needed. If we do need them, they set up quickly and are reasonably comfortable. If we do not use them, it's fine because they're not that heavy, and it's not that hard to have them along. Some of the reviews mention problems which, after seeing a couple of these chairs myself, could only have happened if they were reviewing a damaged product. I bough this chair to catch my daughter in softball!! It really has helped and is comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. I also use it to just watch games. It is durable and easy to carry and keep track of. Recommend this chair to sports lovers!

    • Almost perfect...but a fatal flaw

I was shocked when this chair arrived. The weight of it alone suggested a higher quality than I had expected considering the low price. On closer inspection, including trying it out, I was impressed to the max. You don't often get your expectations exceeded in the retail game so this was a really welcome nice feeling about the product and the company behind it. It was so cute to look at and at the same time rugged, really seemed to be made so well. Unfortunately the back support strap ripped at the seam (badly fraying...hardly used this chair at all). Without a back support the chair is unusable. I was really surprised, the chair had been used maybe three times before the rip started. And used only by me. I am over 60 years old and have major health issues, so I am not hard on chairs (97 pounds), not a rambunctious person. Anyway I would have tried to return it but my attention had to be elsewhere (health) so I missed the return window. And who knows if they are all like that? Or was it just the one I received? It appeared to be not a great job done at the seam, nothing done to prevent fraying of the fabric so it would definitely give out eventually. But so fast??? Like I said, zero abuse of the chair. Oh well, back to the drawing board. My advice, fix the flaw and charge more. ... show more

I have a couple of similar chairs (MAC brand -- but can't find them on Amazon any more). These Pacific Pass chairs bother the inside of my thighs after about half an hour. I guess they are just a bit wider than the MAC chairs. They are also noticeably heavier, making it just a bit more inconvenient to take on a hike. I'm a 5'7" male, about 170lbs. A taller and a bit heavier female friend used one for over an hour without any problem, so.... there's that. ... show more

I bought this as a light-weight alternative to kids sports games. So much lighter/smaller than my full-sized chair. Surprisingly comfortable, no problem sitting in it for a couple hours. It feels very sturdy and I don't worry about it breaking under me. The back support is in the right place and I can lean back without fear that I'll fall over. It feels a little heaver that I expected, but it's much lighter then the chair I had been using for the games; and much more compact. The only problem is that all the small kids love to sit in it, I can hardly get my seat back! ... show more
