  • Perfect for backpacking
Color: Blue
I bought two of these chairs right before a backpacking trip. I was really impressed with how compact, lightweight and sturdy they are. It was a perfect addition for our trip. It puts together super easily and same with packing it back up. The frame almost puts itself together once you pull it out of the case with the elastic strings holding it together. It rained on our trip and we just took the covers off and put them in the tent. The chairs could get a little flimsy if you weigh more than 180lbs. My son and I each weigh less than 180 and they were fine and stable for us. They are comfortable to sit in after a long hike or sitting around a campsite with some coffee. Great backpacking chairs for the price. ... show more

  • Compact, lightweight, strong
I was looking for a lightweight folding/collapsible chair that had a high weight capacity. I ride a recumbent trike that is equipped with a rear cargo rack and a trunk bag. I had seen the extremely lightweight chairs , and had even tried some of them out. The problem wasn’t weight or strength, the biggest issues I had were the low back of the sling fabric and the low height of the legs. In addition, although I was assured that these would support my 250+lb weight, I did not feel confident that I wasn’t going to end up on the ground. Then one of my daughters told me about this chair company. After reviewing their product description, I decided to give it a try. First of all, these chairs are available with a variety of heights of the sling back. I like to have the chair back at least at the height of my shoulders if not slightly higher. I elected to go with the middle height, and I like it. However, I may decide at some point to try out the tallest option. Second, the frame is designed and rated for a weight capacity of 400 pounds, and the base is a wider square rather than the small tripod or very small square offered by others. The frame pieces break down to allow compact storage, and the entire frame is shock chorded, so no loose parts. But the best features, at least in my humble opinion, are the sides of the sling fabric provide a nice armrest feeling, and the 4 legs are independently adjustable for height. You can leave the legs folded into the center frame, which is equipped with foot pads, to give you a very low beach chair setup. Or, you can fold the legs down, and each leg gives you 3 height options. This gives you the option to set up the chair on uneven ground or a side hill and have the chair nearly level. The final feature of these legs is that you can set the front legs at the longest or middle height settings, and the back legs can be set at 1 or 2 shorter settings, and now you are reclined. The fabric on the chair is a heavy canvas type of fabric that is surprisingly lightweight but extremely durable. And there is a double bottle holder on the right side, and a pocket at the top of the back panel that is perfect for holding the carry/storage bag while the chair is in use. The whole package only weighs a couple pounds, so it didn’t add any appreciable weight to my trike, and I could easily strap it on top of my rear trunk bag. I would absolutely recommend this chair for anyone who wants a lightweight, compact chair that feels very sturdy. ... show more

  • Practice assembly and disassembly before you go camping
Color: Blue
What a fantastic folding chair! Super comfy if not a bit low to the ground. I’m 6’1 and would like to have had it a bit taller but it was still fine. Goes together easy enough once you’ve practiced it a few times. Build quality is great and easily hold my 220 pounds.

  • It's nice.
Color: Green
It fits in my backpack and is fairly straightforward to assemble. The chair packed in the case is about the size of a first aid kit. Weight in a backpack is negligable. The frame is attached to itself with elastic, like tent poles. I can just hike down a trail, find a spot I like, and veg out. I don't normally use my phone while doing so, but wanted to take the picture in use. The feet are a little small, no doubt so it has a small size in the bag. This means you do need to be mindful of how hard the ground is. But, it can be an advantage if you want the back to sink a little to make it more of a lounge chair. Your neck may not appreciate it, but it can be dozed off in. It is no substitute for the traditional folding camping chair, but for backpacking runs, it is absolutely perfect. I'm 5'8" and 170 pounds, and it is about perfect size, if a little low. Taller than about 5'10" and heavier than 200 pounds and may find it less comfortable. Absolutely better than sitting on that rock. If I lost it or managed to break it, would buy again. ... show more

  • It is ok, but doubt it could hold 400 lbs
I bought this chair for hunting season. I wanted something that folds up small enough to fit in a backpack. This does do that. I'm 6' tall and about 260 lbs. It feels sturdy enough so I am not worried about it collapsing under me, but I am very skeptical of it holding 400 lbs. There were a couple times I sat down hard and thought, "whoa, I shouldn't do that again". I wish it was a little more stable. Since I am in the middle of the woods, the ground is pretty soft and very uneven. Even on "level" forest terrain, I was having trouble getting it to be stable. It really wants to be on a perfectly level surface like a floor. On any kind of slight slope, it just wanted to tip over for me. The feet would also sink into the dirt. It would have been nice to have wider feet to keep from sinking. The ground was soft, but not really muddy. It sank halfway up the legs into the dirt. Not a fan of the detent button adjustments for the legs, they are such a pain to use. Would be nicer to use something like a camera tripod that has quick flap cam locks for leg adjustment. Other than that it seems good. After a couple practice tries, I can deploy and fold it back up in about a minute each so not terrible. I love how compact it folds up. The seat sling feels really strong and very comfortable. The sling can probably hold 400 lbs, not sure about the frame. I wish it was a little taller, could just be how much it sank for me made it seem lower. Really had to push off the seat to get my feet under me enough to stand up from it. Because you are sort of reclined, you can't just lean forward. ... show more

  • light weight and good value
Color: Black
It is very light weight and very easy to use. The best light weight product under $50. It have no problem to hold my body weight and my son sit on my lap, in total of more than 200 pounds.
