  • Nice table but much narrower than described
We have a smaller couples travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen, and over the years we have assembled a kitchen and patio e with furniture and tables that all fit together to create a compact and efficient kitchen and outdoor living space. The table top for the camp kitchen we have had for over 25 years was warping and needed to be replaced, but for the kitchen and patio ensemble to still fit and work together, we needed to replace it with a camp kitchen that is about the same size as our existing camp kitchen and also has similar underneath storage shelves. Our existing camp kitchen measures 22 x 53, and after a lot of looking, I was excited to find the GCI Master Cook Station that opens very much like our existing camp kitchen and, when partially set up without the end shelves, had measurements described as almost the exact same size. When the table arrived, we set it up right away. It is just as easy to set up as described and we love the fact that each of the snap up supports have a thumb projection to avoid pinching fingers in the hinges. We also love the flexibility of being able to set the station up either partially or fully and that it can be partially collapsed quickly to be put under cover for sudden rain storms. We also love how sturdy it is, that most of the table is level at the same height, and it won't hurt to get it a little wet. The only disappointment is that the table top is much narrower than described, so it is not as close to the size of our existing camp kitchen as we hoped. Our existing camp kitchen is 22 x 53. The dimensions for the Master Cook Station when opened without the side shelves are listed as 22 x 56 - almost the same - but the actual table top is only 15 x 56 inches - about 7 inches narrower than described. Fully opened with the end shelf it is 15 x 70. Our existing camp kitchen has a work area of 7.7 sf. Partially opened to about the same length, the Master Cook Station is 5.8 sf, and fully opened it is 7.3 sf; so it is 17 inches longer than our existing camp kitchen but still has less work space. This isn't really a complaint, but an observation that the width description does not seem to be accurate, and we were surprised to find the actual table depth so much smaller than described. The length and height described are both accurate. One other big plus for the Master Cook Station is the height. I am 5'4" and my husband is 6'4". The Master Cook Station is a comfortable work height for me while also being high enough that my husband doesn't have to bend over. He loves that! Overall, we love how easily the Master Cook Station sets up, the flexibility of being able to set it up in several different configurations, that it is sturdy, and that it can get a bit wet. We can't wait to see how it fits in and functions with the rest of our outdoor kitchen and patio ensemble on our next trip in 2 weeks! If we could change two things, we would. 1. The telescoping pole for hanging a light is a nice feature, but we probably won't use it. The pole is located halfway from each end of the table, and when collapsed, it extends several inches above the table top. That limits the ability to put something right in the middle of the table that might hang over the edge. It would be great if the pole could be collapsed down to table height or even detached. 2. The sink is large and a nice feature, but again, we won't use it. The table top is slatted, so water, spills, or dirt can get down into the sink requiring some extra cleaning. It is a nice, additional storage area, would be great if the sink were removable, too. ... show more

  • Very happy! Superb camp kitchen.
I absolutely LOVE my new camp kitchen! There's more than enough "useful" room for everything. My last table was considerably deeper, and it seemed like there was hardly any room at all. I'm a full time vanner and everything working well and fitting is so important to me. It feels very well made. I bought this because it's shallower than my previous table and will fit nicely in my 6.5 x6.5 Hike Crew shelter and still leave room for me! As the Hike Crew shelter is 6.5 feet instead of 6 feet, like the Clam, so I can have full functionality of my table. Inside the package there is a handy sheet with open and close directions. It also states all the exact weight limits and dimension. I've posted a pic. One of my favorite things about this table is the sink. I'm sick of either going outside the Hike Crew shelter, which is my kitchen room to do dishes or doing them inside and splashing water on the dirt which gets all over everything. The drain hose will allow water to gently flow to the ground without splashing mud all over. ** The included drain hose wasn't working for me at all, so I bought a "Dr. Rooter" drain hose out of Walmart. It slides right over the threads on the sink and it's long enough to drain it outside my kitchen tent. As well it's large enough to not plug up with normal use. (See pic) The table seems stable to me. You'd really have to try to push this over for it to fall... it's a table, not a jungle gym. And like ALL tables used for camping you will probably to some leveling. I shower in my HC shelter (w/ a small shower floor) and the extra shelves will be a great place for me to put my shower bucket full of water. And toiletries. No more stuffing an extra table inside for that. It's not all that heavy. Nice carry strap. I have an elastic velcro strip that I will be putting on it too, to keep it closed. I purchased a cheezy small moving blanket and my friend sewed it into a bag for me. ** I had no use for the lantern pole, so I drilled out the aluminum rivets near the bottom and unscrewed the upper attachment. Then I screwed it back in without the pole adapter as it holds the hinge for the top. I like it better without the lantern pole. The only downer is they shipped mine USPS and it arrived with a giant hole in the box. Thankfully it was over one of the plastic shelves and didn't damage the table. So far it's the only down side. The manufacturer needs to pack the table WAY better! I will be posting more pics as soon as I'm able. But right out of the box, I am LOVING it!!! As a side note I am going to stress to watch your fingers when you open it. I didn't and pinched myself so hard I bled. Ouch! ** I don't put up with junk products! Neither should you. It's everyone's responsibility to stop the waste. ** ... show more

  • Great camp kitchen for base camp.
I have used this on two camping trips so far. One time I had to set up at night and it was easy to set up in dark/low light. This is perfect for heavier family camping trips, base camps, and out door grilling for bigger family gatherings. It packs up easily and very compact for storage and transport. It’s light weight, but very sturdy with the aluminum frame and platforms. When I used it, it handled a food prep, and two burner camp stove, and food serving area during the meal, and then transitioned easily to handle full clean up for everything. It had plenty of extra storage shelves below to hold extra pans and dishes, supplies, and fuel. The sink basin made clean up much easier. The whole set up can be cleaned easily. This needs level ground to stay balanced. The filter in the sink basin drain can get clogged easily with food particles during washing and for grey water I just pulled the filter off to drain it into the bucket. ... show more

  • Amazing Camp Table!
The media could not be loaded. This camp table is amazing! The top is big enough to hold a stove while leaving lots of room for food prep. The lower storage shelves are handy for storing bins, dish drying racks, and pans. My favorite part of the table is the sink! I added REI’s Campwell Foot Pump Faucet to the sink. It clamps on the back of the table and uses a foot pump to make water flow from the faucet. It takes about a minute to set up the faucet head. I used one two gallon bucket for fresh water and one two gallon bucket for dirt water. Super easy to use! ... show more
