  • Nice table but much narrower than described
We have a smaller couples travel trailer with an outdoor kitchen, and over the years we have assembled a kitchen and patio e with furniture and tables that all fit together to create a compact and efficient kitchen and outdoor living space. The table top for the camp kitchen we have had for over 25 years was warping and needed to be replaced, but for the kitchen and patio ensemble to still fit and work together, we needed to replace it with a camp kitchen that is about the same size as our existing camp kitchen and also has similar underneath storage shelves. Our existing camp kitchen measures 22 x 53, and after a lot of looking, I was excited to find the GCI Master Cook Station that opens very much like our existing camp kitchen and, when partially set up without the end shelves, had measurements described as almost the exact same size. When the table arrived, we set it up right away. It is just as easy to set up as described and we love the fact that each of the snap up supports have a thumb projection to avoid pinching fingers in the hinges. We also love the flexibility of being able to set the station up either partially or fully and that it can be partially collapsed quickly to be put under cover for sudden rain storms. We also love how sturdy it is, that most of the table is level at the same height, and it won't hurt to get it a little wet. The only disappointment is that the table top is much narrower than described, so it is not as close to the size of our existing camp kitchen as we hoped. Our existing camp kitchen is 22 x 53. The dimensions for the Master Cook Station when opened without the side shelves are listed as 22 x 56 - almost the same - but the actual table top is only 15 x 56 inches - about 7 inches narrower than described. Fully opened with the end shelf it is 15 x 70. Our existing camp kitchen has a work area of 7.7 sf. Partially opened to about the same length, the Master Cook Station is 5.8 sf, and fully opened it is 7.3 sf; so it is 17 inches longer than our existing camp kitchen but still has less work space. This isn't really a complaint, but an observation that the width description does not seem to be accurate, and we were surprised to find the actual table depth so much smaller than described. The length and height described are both accurate. One other big plus for the Master Cook Station is the height. I am 5'4" and my husband is 6'4". The Master Cook Station is a comfortable work height for me while also being high enough that my husband doesn't have to bend over. He loves that! Overall, we love how easily the Master Cook Station sets up, the flexibility of being able to set it up in several different configurations, that it is sturdy, and that it can get a bit wet. We can't wait to see how it fits in and functions with the rest of our outdoor kitchen and patio ensemble on our next trip in 2 weeks! If we could change two things, we would. 1. The telescoping pole for hanging a light is a nice feature, but we probably won't use it. The pole is located halfway from each end of the table, and when collapsed, it extends several inches above the table top. That limits the ability to put something right in the middle of the table that might hang over the edge. It would be great if the pole could be collapsed down to table height or even detached. 2. The sink is large and a nice feature, but again, we won't use it. The table top is slatted, so water, spills, or dirt can get down into the sink requiring some extra cleaning. It is a nice, additional storage area, would be great if the sink were removable, too. ... show more

  • Great camp kitchen for base camp.
I have used this on two camping trips so far. One time I had to set up at night and it was easy to set up in dark/low light. This is perfect for heavier family camping trips, base camps, and out door grilling for bigger family gatherings. It packs up easily and very compact for storage and transport. It’s light weight, but very sturdy with the aluminum frame and platforms. When I used it, it handled a food prep, and two burner camp stove, and food serving area during the meal, and then transitioned easily to handle full clean up for everything. It had plenty of extra storage shelves below to hold extra pans and dishes, supplies, and fuel. The sink basin made clean up much easier. The whole set up can be cleaned easily. This needs level ground to stay balanced. The filter in the sink basin drain can get clogged easily with food particles during washing and for grey water I just pulled the filter off to drain it into the bucket. ... show more

  • So Much Space
I chose this one because of the amount of counter space as my wife likes to lay all the ingredients out and cooks up quite a feast. It’s durable, easy to set up and take down, and is quite portable. We haven’t used the sink yet but it’s a clever design that can be used as extra counter space when not in use. The lantern holder is decent, not as sturdy or tall as a stand-alone lantern holder but does what it needs to do. A few inches taller would make it more functional. The materials are very durable, especially the metal top where you can have a stove with high heat. We haven’t noticed any coloration or seep scratches so it’s holding up. The additional shelves add a lot of additional storage and the paper towel holder is so simple but super useful and functional. Don’t really anything to complain about. ... show more

  • Great for car camping
I have had a lot of “camp kitchen” setups, from a simple Rubbermaid tub to a pop topper on my truck. This is perfect as can be for any type of setup. Honestly id use this with an indoor kitchen / trailer just for the wash bin and storage. A large cooler fits perfect next to this or under the side bin, the lantern hanger is great (do a solar string light from this to a tree!) and it’s nice and sturdy. A lot of these are laminated cardboard with an aluminum foil layer. Be wary of those ones, if they get wet they warp and get nasty! I’ve had some small retractable leg tables, those are nice for ones that tuck so small and give you a single work space. This guy is for when you like to cook, or want a table and workspace, and the hideaway wash bin really is the best Washbin setups ive had- you can hide it, drain it, and use it to dry. Worth it just for that and the cup holders, but it’s also ALL plastic and aluminum so fine to get wet/ durable! No cardboard. This with a back wall under and EZ Up and you’re rocking all summer! ... show more

  • Solid Camp Kitchen
Let me start by saying I really like this camp kitchen. I read reviews on this and others and I am glad that I settled on the GCI for a few reasons. Pros: (1) Lantern pole. Works great and is the primary I bought it. (2) Sturdy. Lots of shelves and storage and food prep space. (3) Easy to transport and setup. Cons: (1) No carry bag. Other reviews noted this too. I will just keep in the box so that packing it is easier. (2) the sink. For a rinse area it is fine but for a cleaning area it is no good. The valve is easily clogged by the smallest food bits. I will stick to my current 2 bucket washing method. (3) Again, like others, it would be nice if the sink cover, when flipped open, could be kept upright. It would be a great drying area. Overall, I use this for car camping with bigger groups. It held 2 two burner stoves, my lantern, spices, cookware, and more. I like it and hope to get several years use out of it. ... show more
