Description

Orange's Crush Bass 25 amplifier packs a host of professional features into one fat-sounding combo. Keeping the signal path all analogue means the Crush Bass amp delivers the classic warm sound that makes Orange Amps the choice of some of the world's most iconic bass players - Geddy Lee, John McVie, and Glenn Hughes to name but a few. Much like the hugely popular Crush guitar amps, the Crush Bass range sets a new benchmark for quality in the practice amplifier market. The result is an amp that's perfect for home practice, rehearsals, and studio work.

  • Nice warm sound
Before I got this amp I was using a little Ibanez 15w bass amp for practice which was okay but this Crush Bass 25 blows it out of the water. The tuning options really do effect tone in a rich/smooth way. The built in tuner is also an awesome feature, very useful. Even at near full volume (as loud as I can be in my apartment) there is no distortion or "popping" in the sound. Very impressive for a small practice amp. I'd even say you could do small gigs with this thing. ... show more

  • Awesome value and more importantly, quality
Unlike other amps named bass amps I've had, this is quiet (zero hum) and certainly maximizes on its' relatively low power rating. I tested it by practicing with a drummer only who was not soft on the touch and it cut through. It is nice and weighty and I am going for the larger higher power one for gigs. Nice job as usual Orange. ... show more

  • Great amp!
Great amp with awesome sound. There's orange bass amps and there's bass amps. Get the orange bass amp and hear what you're missing:)

  • Great little amp
I bought one for me and one for my son. Great little practice amp, sounds bigger than it is. Lots of features. Love the built-in tuner especially.

  • The one I got is garbage.
The media could not be loaded. I'm an intermediate level multi-instrumentalist. This is my first time buying anything from Orange. There may be people out there who consider the type of vibration I was getting out of this tiny cab to be "the Orange Sound" (as in, something that they LIKE); but if that's the case our musical tastes are divergent. Leave it at that. I'm not here to debate "taste," but I recognize that if the amp was built this way ON PURPOSE, then I'm going to sound crazy. Hopefully the video I attached to my review will upload. It will help illustrate the tone issue I'm getting. This amp came to me with UPS, from Amazon. No ding, dents or visible damage to the box. I unpacked it. I plugged it in. I powered it up. No crazy pops or noises. Looks great! Smells new. Lightweight. Looks solidly built. Unfortunately, the amp sounds like 25 hard-cranking watts of DOO-DOO. Right out the gate, it buzzed on almost every note I played. You know that sound you get when your drummer leaves his snares engaged, and a little too loose? You play a certain note and (across the room) you hear "bzzzzzzzzzzzt?" Yeah. Like that, but for ALL the notes. I plugged TWO basses into this thing (one with an active EQ and one without any form of "active circuit," at all). Both gave me the same results, regardless of whether the PAD was engaged. I tried multiple cables. I tried multiple outlets (all on different circuit breakers). I eliminated common sources of hum, like dimmer switches on the lights in my room. Nothing worked. It was just a bad amp. The only time I could get the buzz to go away was when the volume (on the amp) was turned down to about 4, (where it would be too quiet even to practice with). Super disappointed. Will not be looking at any solid state Orange products again. ... show more

  • Great Practice Amp
This is a seriously good sounding practice amp (25W version). It might even be possible to use in a live setting with a smaller jazz combo... maybe. I have not tested it. I wouldn't recommend getting this for actual live play though if that's what you're thinking. It's got a great sound. I use a cheapo Squier J Bass (A darn good instrument for its price) with this amp and it sounds really punchy and warm. I'd say it makes me want to play more. Something about sounding nice compels me to practice more. I don't know, maybe that's just me. Good Amp + Cheap Bass = good sound ... show more
