  • Works great!
Perfect for using FORScan. It's my first time getting into OBD scanners and car programming but this adapter is literally plug and play. Very happy.

  • Works
It worked right out of the box. Hooked it up to my lap top and plugged into the OBD outlet and bang it worked fine. So I’m saying it’s a win. Not cheap but I’m ok with paying for an item that works. I have an expensive Bluetooth OBD reader and it’s not working with my F150 so I thought I’d go hardwire way. ... show more

  • Great tool to diagnose issues
It is nearly impossible to do any repair's yurself on modern vehicles without the abilty to interrogate the ECM and to run tests. This tool provides the hardware "adapter" to the car's computer systems, and allows software on a laptop to connect to, read, and interact with our car. The adapter is good, but to get the most out of it and what it offers you need good software. I've used this with both OBDLink and ForScan. I have only Ford vehicles (ford trucks and cars, and lincoln car). The ForScan is the software I prefer, and I went ahead and purchased the extended license (1 year for $19 if I remeber correctly). That fee is to help them continue developing the code. I did try it with OBDLink as well, and it worked very well as well. OBDLink is free, but will only allow you to read codes and sensor values, and it may be able to do some tests (didnt get that far with OBDLink). There are other software products out there as well, and they may be compatible with this unit. One of the important aspects is that this is NOT an ELM327 knock-off. It is a completely different solution that works very well. It's fast, reliable, and just works. The ELM327 chip is getting old, and is not compatible with some of the newer protocols. Also, there are a flood of poor quality copies of the ELM327 out there, so stay away from them, buy this unit! The OBDLink EX is the USB version, there is also a bluetooth version. I personally like the USB version so I can attach it to my laptop. The laptop gives me a lot more storage for logging, profiles, etc. I bought this to replace a very old, and very expensive commercial unit that eventually died. This does all it did, and a few more things, especially with the ForScan software. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Just like the title says, worked as advertised. The module booted right up and connected to my 2013 F250 with no issues. Was able to make changes to remove hyper flash from LED bulbs. Would definitely buy again.

  • Worked great out of the box with Forscan on a Windows machine.
Worked great out of the box with Forscan on a Windows machine for changing As Built hex entries on my Fusion. You need to know what you're doing, but the "OBDLink EX" FORScan OBD Adapter worked great.

  • Can be deadly!
Works great on tablet or laptop using Forscan but dangerous using phone. On tablet it connects right up and Forscan works flawlessly. But if going through Android everything seems fine but majority of time, after 5 or 10 minutes it will shut engine down completely and only was engine will restart is to cycle key. Can be very dangerous if driving to monitor items! Luckily the time it happened to me I was on a street with no traffic. If using phone make sure it cycles through the "kill" or you could be killed yourself. ... show more

  • Works perfectly with FORscan
This adapter works perfectly with the free FORscan Windows application for Ford vehicles. I am using it on an older Lenovo Win10 laptop. This USB dongle was detected by Windows and did not require any special driver download. Note that I do a lot of Arduino programming on this laptop so it's possible that I loaded the driver sometime in the past. This dongle automatically switches between low-speed and high-speed CAN bus modes. Other cheaper dongles have a toggle switch that you have to manually flip back and forth depending on which mode your OBD software is using. This dongle was a little bit pricey but worth the peace of mind that there would be no compatibility issues with FORscan. Cheers! ... show more
