Features

  • GENTLE ON YOUR BLADES: Our knife guards are felt-lined so that they protect your knives integrity without marring their finish or dulling their blades as they slide in and out of the sheath.
  • SAFER, NON-BPA MATERIALS: Our chef knife covers are constructed from ABS plastic, which unlike its common alternative PVC plastic, is non-BPA and non-toxic.
  • LONG-LASTING CONSTRUCTION: In addition to it being safer, we chose ABS plastic over PVC for our knife sleeves as it is harder, more resistant to abrasions, and has a higher impact strength. We also designed our knife sleeves to be thick, cut-proof, and more durable than thinner, flimsier edge guards.
  • UNIVERSAL KNIFE BLADE SIZES: 8-Piece assorted knife protectors are designed to fit most paring, utility, boning, Santoku, chef, and bread knives. See dimensions below to determine if your specific knife set is well suited!
  • KNIFE SHEATH DIMENSIONS: (2) 4.75" x 1", (2) 6 X 1, (1) 6.25 X 1.25, (1) 8.5 X 1.25, (1) 8.5 X 2, (1) 10.5 x 2.25. Sheath Dimensions are to cover the length of your blade. (Knives Not Included)

Description

We all know the best knife is a sharp knife, but honing and sharpening become futile when your knife blades are playing bumper cars in a knife drawer or knife bag! Knife edge guards are highly recommended, if not necessary, for keeping your knives from being dinged, nicked, and dulled while being carried in a knife roll or stored loose in a drawer. Got it. I do need knife covers. So which ones do I get? Well that is the question! It comes down to quality preference! Thin or paper edge guards work for a limited time before the knives cut through them, and you have to purchase again. If you’re looking more for a 1-time buy, Noble Home & Chef’s edge guards are a high-quality, but cost-efficient solution. Why Noble Home & Chef? We didn’t name ourselves Noble for nothing! It is our primary goal to provide you with quality and trustworthy products for your home and kitchen. Our knife sheaths are no exception! What Sets Noble Home & Chef’s Edge Guards Apart? - Felt-Lined to give your knife blades extra protection, even down to the finish - Cut-proof materials - Thick, high-impact sustainable ABS plastic -Non-BPA, non-toxic, making it safer for use with food as opposed to PVC - Resistant to abrasions - Larger size options - Fit most paring, utility, boning, Santoku, chef, and bread knives Knife Sheath Dimensions: 4.75" x 1" (2) 6” X 1” (2) 6.25” X 1.25” (1) 8.5” X 1.25” (1) 8.5” X 2” (1) 10.5” x 2.25” (1) Knives Not Included

  • Knives, knives everywhere
I have an assortment of knives that I've collected throughout the years. A few expensive, some in between and some just old favorites. I have them everywhere. In kitchen draws, in wooden blocks, some wrapped in corrugated paper for protection. I started baking Artisan bread because I'm retired and bored. My inexpensive bread knives were just doing a disservice to my beautiful bread. So I splurged and bought a Shun bread knife. Hubby is not allowed to touch it. Well, to be honest. He doesn't even know that it exists and I'm going to keep it that way since he pretty much destroys everything he touches. The Shun knife, of course, needs a knife edge guard. So here I am. I just received the guards and can't evaluate for any long term usage outside of a couple of days. They fit well and snug but not to snug making it difficult to use. It's perfect for all my knives from my Shun bread knife down to the old carbon steel Chinese cleaver I have. I think every knife deserves to have a cover. No matter the cost of the knife. These covers are reasonably priced and well made. So I plan to buy more and when I need to bring a knife to an occasion where I'll be cooking I will NOT be carrying the knives around with those awful tacky DIY cardboard sheaths I make. Yes, they are beyond tacky. ... show more

  • Design & fit
Bought a set to provide edge guards for some fancy (?) tamahagane (folded) steel chef knife souveniers from a trip to Japan. The open top style covers fit sungly and the three larger size/lengths, my set included x1 10 5/8ths L by 2" Tall, x1 9 & 5/8ths x 2" Tall and x1 9&5/8ths x 1 1/4tr Tall guards, are long enough to cover the x2 longer blades, which are @ 8" to 8.25", from handle to tip. The "Tall" longer guards hide the (? I'm not sure if this should be called "San-mai" or Damascen pattern) on the blades. On the other hand, the "shorter" 1.25" Tall 9 & 5/8ths inch long guard doesn't rise quite tall enough to prevent the blade from being able to slip foward, which would allow the tip of the knife to proturde past the guard. This may or may not be of concern, since the guard, at least in new condition, grips the blade with sufficient force in my opinion, to keep lower guard in place. The taller, 2" guards, at least on my blades, catch on the handles, such that the knife blade can't slide forward - this wouldn't be the case for example wiht a tall butcher's knife chopping blade. In short, nice product, works well - a buyer might want to think about blade height & knife handle height and length if that's of concern. ... show more

  • Sizing could be better, lining has chemical smell
Not crazy about these. Yes they are sturdy and do a good job of protecting the knives, but the lengths aren’t great for my purposes. The 4.75” requires exact placement of my 4.7” petty knife, otherwise the tip extends about 1/16” past the sheath, and the 10.5” doesn’t quite cover the blade of my 10.5” gyuto, either. Also the set doesn’t include a guard for a 7” santoku which is a disappointment. But my main complaint is the strong chemical smell of the lining. It “sticks” to the blades and doesn’t wipe off easily. I have to wash the knife before using it just to get rid of the smell. Maybe all of the felt-lined guards are like this now, so it may not be just this brand. ... show more

  • Lined, good variety and protects your knives
The only knife edge guards I've used in the past were probably cardboard and were definitely not lined, but as my cooking increased, so did the quality of my knives. I decided it was time to protect them from damage or dulling - not to mention protecting me from being cut. This set had a nice variety of sizes, and I liked that they were lined. After reading descriptions and reviews on approximately one trillion knife guard sets on Amazon, I went with this set. First off, they came well packed, each guard with an individual piece of clear plastic protecting it. There were several sizes, and I took a little time to figure out which knife fit best in which guard - the sides are open, so if one isn't a perfect fit, you can still protect the sharp edges. Because chances are like any set of edge guards, these won't be a perfect match for your knife sizes, but for my knives even when the guards aren't a perfect fit, they protect the edge and stay on. And yes, you could get a perfect fit by ordering individual guards that match your knives. If you're like me and want good protection for your knives and your fingers in a convenient, reasonably priced set, I think are well-worth a look. They're tight enough to stay on but not too tight, which can be dangerous if you have to wrestle your blades in and out. They're attractive (they look great in my houndstooth knife roll) and come in a nice variety of what I found to be useful sizes. And for what you get, I'd say the price is right. I'm happy with my Noble Home & Chef 8-Piece Universal Knife Edge Guards set, and if you're looking for a set rather than individual edge guards, these are definitely worth your consideration. ... show more

  • They work!
For various reasons, I ended up with two complete sets of Henckels forged knife sets plus some additional knives. I keep one set in its wood block but had the other knives loose in a drawer. I needed blade covers to protect my hands when reaching into the drawer and to protect the blades. I purchased the Noble 8 piece set and a another 5 piece PVC set. The Noble set cost more per blade cover but they are good quality, are easier to insert and remove the knife, and have a smooth interior that I expect to be easier on the blade. I still have a 12" chef knife,, another pairing knife, and a meat cleaver to cover. If Noble had individual covers for these items, I would definitely buy them. I would also recommend that they let you build your own set of individual size covers in order to accommodate more buyer needs. If they did, I would have bought all my knife covers from them. ... show more
