Forced to purchase the arm after my the heat and curvature of my new car’s dashboard being too much for the adhesive of the dash mount, I found that the arm length really needs to be a bit longer for modern cars. But I purchased a second one, and attached that arm to the end of the old one, and I’m really satisfied with the result so far. They should consider making some kind of official extension option for the original… perhaps by repeating the grooved locking elements found at the arm’s base, adding them to the end. Until then though, a really hard hand tightening seems good enough, and I’m running an iPhone Max. Love this company’s Steelie products! ... show more

I own a lot of Nite Ize gear and had high hopes for the steelie windshield mount and phone holder. tl/dr it won't support the phone, and getting the phone into the mount is a clumsy two-handed operation. The actual suction mount is great, the arm is easy to reposition, and getting it into a good location was easy. But in use it is not a great experience. The phone starts drooping as soon as you start driving, so I have to reposition it every few minutes. Annoying. Then you have to clamp the bottom half of the phone only because it will trip the home and volume buttons, so it is always top-heavy. My hope was it would be as seamless and useful as the other nite-ize items like mini biners, rope tensioners etc, but it isn't. Plus this Steelie system is expensive. ... show more

LOVE IT! I’m using this on my desk to hold my phone. Love that I can have my phone angled almost horizontal so when I’m using speaker phone there is nothing blocking the microphone!!! The base has a non slip portion on the bottom. Keeps my iPhone extremely secure. Would highly recommend this!!

Great brand, great quality and durable design. But some design flaw: - This vent mount a bit short and not long enough, so your phone will get too close to your dashboard, leaving little to no room to rotate the phone and adjust angle. - There's no below support like other vent mount do, so depending on the way you do it, it could pull your vent direction downward and the entire mount facing down. Still among the market full of cheaply-made vent mount, I appreciate a brand like Nite Ize focusing on the quality and and engineering in their product.
