Such a simple idea! I ordered these and another order of a metal product claiming to do the same thing. But the metal product didn’t allow the door to close enough to keep animals out and allow “air” in just so the room didn’t get stuffy. This product though- perfect! Simple to place on the knob, simple to adjust- and plenty of adjustment to allow just air…or a cat if you are wanting to just have cats in the room for privacy. Amazing product! Really great little gadgets! The only issue is that if your dog leans against the door, the threaded bits that the metal thing latches with get ripped out and can’t be put back in. So after one gets ripped out, that size option is useless. As the metal piece can’t screw into the hole.

This simple to use and install latch stops me from closing the door behind my cats. This latch also helps with the opening closing of the door to let the cats in and let the cats out. My house gets cold at night and I don't want to lock my cats in or out of my bedroom. This allows just enough room for them to come and go without pushing the door open wide allowing the cold air to enter. So we have been keeping our cats out of all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room. Problem is that if you keeep doors closed for months at a time, air doesn't circulate as well as it should and some rooms start to get an odor. So we ordered these in order to be able to leave the doors cracked open and be stationary in the position to allow proper airflow in our home. These do that task perfectly. They seem well made and are super simple. I became aggressive with it to test it by shaking, bumping, pushing, and pulling on the door. Needless to say, it didn't move. We have large round door knobs and these fit perfectly. It's a little tight fit to get them on at first so be prepared to maybe twist the plastic a touch, but it takes less then 5 secs to install, lol. The metal piece that fits into the door frame lock strike plate has a lip on it so that it doesn't just slid out which I thought was a nice added benefit. And it's easily adjustable depending on how much you want the door to be open. I could see it being used in a cat a dog household and using it allowing a cat sanctuary to be found in a room because the dog would be too big to fit through. We will use these and I will give another update after a few months of use (if I remember to). But right now, I would recommend these to anyone who needs to keep a door cracked open.
