🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The HP Envy laptop with a 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD configuration has received high praise for its fast performance and excellent touch screen, with particular commendation for its compatibility with gaming and craft design software. While some users noted the laptop's sturdy build and sufficient specs for professional use like engineering CAD software, some drawbacks were reported regarding brightness and resolution, weight for tablet mode, and occasional technical issues.

Pros

  • 🚀 Runs super fast and the touch screen responds without lag
  • 🎮 Great for gaming, especially Roblox and compatibility with Cricut design space
  • 🎵 Smooth Bluetooth connectivity for peripherals and devices
  • 🔧 Sturdy metal build and good performance for its price point
  • 📐 Suitable for professional use such as engineering CAD software

Cons

  • 🖥️ Screen brightness and resolution not optimal
  • ⚖️ A bit heavy, especially when used in tablet mode
  • 🛠️ Occasional technical issues, such as problems with sleep mode, microphone, global volume controls, and trackpad buttons

Should I Buy It?

If you're in need of a fast-performing laptop with reliable touch screen capabilities for gaming, design work, or professional software, the HP Envy seems like a good option. However, if you prioritize a lightweight tablet mode or are concerned about potential technical glitches, you may want to consider looking for alternatives that better suit those specific needs.

  • Not your regular 2 in 1
The monitor on this computer does not twist to cover up the keyboard. It folds so that the back of the monitor and the back of the keyboard section touch against each other, so the keyboard is exposed. You will not be able to hold it as a tablet, because your hand-or whatever it is leaned against- will accidentally press keys. It has to be placed as shown in advertisement. I will provide more comments later, after my daughter uses it for school. ... show more

  • Upgraded part failed - customer service is painful
The SSD, which was the upgraded part by “upgrade king”, failed when I fist powered the unit on for my wife. I reinstalled windows thinking it would be fixed but it just delayed the issue until the end of March. At that point, HP will only stand by their warranty on non upgraded part, leaving this company to be the sole contact for repair. They do not cover shipping, do not cover any damages during the shipping process, do not cover any missing parts, and “as they are not a nationwide company” do not have the resources to do anything other than putting all responsibility on the owner. This means, any warranty they provide on their upgraded parts is not worth it, I promise you that you will save time and frustration by paying the $50 more for the same laptop directly from HP or a Best Buy. ... show more

  • Great computer
It’s still early days and learning Windows 11 but I’m thrilled so far with this HP laptop. The screen size is comparable with a larger laptop thanks to the extremely small bezels. It is heavier then anticipated which may be a result of the chassis to support the hinges that allow the screen to fold 180 degrees and also the touch screen. I’d recommend though, a quality product so far. ... show more

  • Glad I got this!
I've had my laptop for over a month now. I use it for remote work and for writing. It's quick, simple, and let's me work for hours (8-12 hours) at a time without causing any disruption. I come from using all Apple products. However, I really didn't want to spend so much money on a MacBook Pro. I also like that the keyboard has the number keypad on the side for a laptop, which is a huge plus since I work with numbers. This has easily become a favorite and I'm glad that I got it. ... show more

  • Powerful sturdy loaded laptop for the price.
Very good performance for the price. Very sturdy metal build. On the heavy side for tablet mode. The 13 inch model would be better for that. Screen brightness and resolution not great.

  • It was good for a while, then it bricked.
I loved this laptop a lot. But one day it just stopped turning on and responding. I attempted to diagnose the problem and I figured out that it was a hardware issue. Not worth my time and money to try to fix it.

  • The most expensive piece of garbage I've ever bought
I received this in early April and within 3 months the screen has detached from the lid, It randomly turns off while I am in zoom meetings, typing out documents or watching movies. Not goes to sleep, fully shuts off. It will not run even the most basic of PC games, one that my old laptop has no problem running. It has absolutely terrible loading speed. It will randomly decide my internet is down while all other devices and even the laptop WiFi settings will say there is internet available. It also dies within an hour if not plugged in. Most of these problems started within the first week, but I assumed that it was due to user error, however they just got worse with time. The reason I was looking to get a new laptop was my old one, which is about 5years old, cost about $350-400, and has 4G of RAM was starting to load slow and crash unexpectedly. Which after 5 years of a cheap 4G RAM laptop I think is pretty expected. However a brand new almost $1,000 16G laptop shouldn't have these problems My old laptop as is, runs faster and crashes less than this brand new laptop. It also runs much cooler as this laptop gets almost to burn your hands hot very quickly, a temperature my old laptop only hit if playing video games with demands at the top of its limits. ... show more
