Frequently asked questions

A 'Renewed' Apple MacBook Pro means that it was pre-owned and has undergone a rigorous renewal process by Amazon-qualified suppliers. They perform a full diagnostic test, replace any defective parts, and thoroughly clean the product. The renewed MacBook Pro products look and work like new and come with a 90-day Amazon Renewed Guarantee.

2.3GHz Core i5 refers to the central processing unit or CPU. The higher the number in GHz, the faster the CPU can process data. In this case, 'Core i5' is a mid-range performance line of processors from Intel, and 2.3GHz is its frequency speed. This makes this MacBook Pro suitable for multitasking and medium-heavy applications.

256GB stands for the internal storage capacity of the MacBook Pro. This is where the files, applications, and system software are stored. 256GB is considered generous and can comfortably accommodate lots of applications, documents, photos, and videos.

The 13-inch size refers to the diagonal length of the screen. Given its relatively small size and lightweight design, the 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro is highly portable, making it a great choice for professionals and students who need to bring their laptop everywhere.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The MacBook Pro reviews generally lean towards the positive, with customers praising the overall performance of the device, even indicating that it works well for extensive use such as online classes and DJing. However, several customers expressed dissatisfaction with the included charger, which often arrived broken or non-functional. Another point of concern was the battery life, which many found less than expected, especially for heavy use. Despite these issues, most customers are happy with their purchase, even those who received the product with minor cosmetic flaws.

Pros

  • 💻 Customers generally find the MacBook Pro to perform well even for intensive tasks.
  • 💡 Some users received a newer model than listed, which was a pleasant surprise.
  • 🛠 Despite being used, the MacBook Pro often functions smoothly.
  • 💫 Many customers appreciated the product's condition, despite minor cosmetic flaws.

Cons

  • 🔌 Several users reported that the included charger was broken or non-functional.
  • 🔋 The battery life could be disappointing for users with demanding usage.
  • 💿 Some customers found it difficult to transfer data from their old Macbook to the new one.
  • 🔘 A few customers received the product a bit dirty.

Should I Buy It?

Yes, if you are looking for a high-performing, sleek device for extensive usage, this MacBook Pro seems to deliver. However, be prepared to deal with a potentially non-functional charger and possibly less battery life than expected. If these trade-offs seem acceptable, this is a purchase that appears to satisfy most of its customers.

  • Better than expected
Color: Silver Set: Core i5 - 16 GB RAM / 256 GB SSD
The laptop was in great condition and the battery life is decent. I got the package on time (it needed a signature to the Fedex driver). I am so grateful to this seller. I was debating getting a Windows machine or a Mac, and decided to try my hand at a Macbook. I specifically got this one because even if it is from 2017, it's *relatively* spec'ed out and should be able to handle most tasks with ease. This Macbook powers on / wakes up very quickly. Because it has an Intel chip you will hear the fans running when your throw too many tasks at it, but most of the time they don't. The screen is beautiful and enjoyable to look at. It's very snappy and handles everything without breaking a sweat. This model goes up to MacOS Ventura (13.x.x), which is compatible with a lot of things from the App store. The Intel processor has compatibility with just about everything made for MacOS, and in some cases, some stuff that the M-series chips can't run. Certain Apple apps like Pages install but like some version that is compatible with Ventura. Keep in mind that this unit only has 2 type-c ports. This hasn't been an issue for me because I don't need to plug in too many things. The way around having 2 ports is either using Bluetooth accessories and / or using a USB hub. (Also, for a Macbook, 16gb of RAM may be overkill, so don't let it factor too much into your decision vs other Macbooks which have more ports). I use it as a student who uses Visual Studio and does 3d modeling / printing with apps like Blender. Since day 1 with this laptop, I have had zero regrets, and became even happier with my decision. I hope others will have a similar experience, because it's such a good value. ... show more

  • Lasted me about 4-5 months. Not happy.
Color: Space Gray Set: Core i5 - 256 GB
I bought this computer, needing it for school work, and was a cheap option for someone who didn’t have a big budget. It worked okay for about 4 months, had some issues such as the battery dying very fast and overheating a lot. Learned to live with it and only keep a few tabs open. Eventually, it stopped working, and wouldn’t let me do anything on the computer since the wifi wouldn’t enable. Took it to a repair place, turns out the motherboard was dying the whole time and didn’t have long left. Extremely upset that I spent 333 dollars on this product and Amazon won’t refund me or do anything at all since its about 1 month and a half past the return date. Which I understand, but obviously they need to have exceptions or make the return dates on these longer since they are CLAIMING that these are in “excellent condition” When they are on the brink of dying. Very unhappy that there has not been any problem solving on Amazon’s side. And if you buy one, if ANYTHING seems off immediately return the product because it will probably stop working justttt after the return date so they can short you a couple hundred of dollars! And what’s even better is that in order for them to fix my computer it would cost over 900 dollars…. When I payed over 300 dollars to get it in the first place. I would’ve been better off buying a brand new macbook then this crap :) Atleast it would have lasted me A LOT longer. It also came with a horrible covering on it that wasn’t even centered on the computer so I had to peel that off. I would like a refund or atleast half of my money back since this thing didn’t even last me half of a year. Waste of 300 dollars that goes to this stupid company. ... show more

  • Looks and runs like a new macbook
Color: Space Gray Set: Core i5 - 256 GB
I purchased a refurbished Macbook Pro 13" in "Excellent" condition with 256 GB Storage and 8 GB RAM to have a facetime machine. I haven't tested it for a long facetime call yet, but out of the box, it really looks like a new laptop. The charging adapter has seen better days, but it does work. I was skeptical about my purchase after reading some reviews, but I'm very pleasantly surprised with what I received. I do think the packaging could have been better; I received a generic computer box lacking padding, and that box was sitting inside an amazon box with even less padding. I don't blame the seller for it rattling around the amazon box freely, but it seems to have arrived without any damage. The colors on the screen are vibrant and beautiful. I haven't noticed any screen burn-in. There aren't any scratches on it either; it looks brand new. The battery is in good shape with 115 charge cycles. The camera doesn't have any issues, and when it's on, the green LED light illuminates. The hinge feels good upon opening and closing. There's some light wear on the keys from previous usage, but nothing major. All the keys work and respond to a regular press. The microphone is also in good shape. It does run a little warm, though, I'm also installing updates onto it. I also haven't owned a macbook before, but I have heard they run a bit warm, even when new, so take what I said about the warmth with a grain of salt. If you're looking for a lightweight laptop to get you by in college, buying this as a refurb is a steal. ... show more
