Using this for my indoor cats ( 2 ) to sleep in at night. Before anyone tries to judge NO they do not stay in there all day long! Fits the litter box I have very well. I like that it's customizable although they will provide the standard way to build it. Be sure to build this in the room/area that you want to keep it in! Made the rookie mistake of thinking it can fit through a normal size door. How to dissemble and reassemble. This thing takes quite a while to build.     • Perfect for keeping pets safe during 4th of July!
I have a cat whose instinct is to run when scared. She doesn’t hide under a bed or in a closet like most cats typically would. Instead cries at windows and doors to be let out so she could run off to who-knows-where. She’s also an escape artist that will run outside when I’m opening the door to take out the trash or bring in deliveries. With 4th of July approaching she’s been extra anxious and afraid, which made me get this kennel. I didn’t want to deal with those typical heavy metal pet crates and kennels that you’d find at the pet supply store or at a vet’s office. I can’t lift much so this panel-styled one is much more portable. And when it’s not in use for pets, you could easily store it in a container or even turn it into shelving. Assembly did take several hours. Mostly because the pieces were slightly dented in the corners. It was difficult to get things to align, so the zip ties really helped. When using this with pets, the zip ties are a MUST. During a test my cat, an absolute chonk, was able to knock out a panel where i forgot to put zip ties. She was able to hop on the platforms (zip tied) with little shaking or strain. Definitely use them, you get about 200 pieces. When the fireworks aren't going off I keep the kennel door open and my cat and her siblings use it as a quiet hangout spot. I drape a curtain over it to make it feel like a hiding spot. ... show more

Bought this for my Maine Coon that likes to play with my bread while I’m away. I’ve had enough when he ate my stroganoff. Platforms are flimsy. He’s a big cat, so reinforce with ALOT of zip ties. It’s taking over my small living room. And make sure you put it together right the first time or you’ll have to get inside it to fix it. I just make my teenager do it.     • Not What I Hoped For
I had hoped something in this price range would be a little more sturdy. Assembly wasn't too difficult at first, but the taller it gets, the more it wants to slide apart. I have absolutely covered it in zip ties, but the structure itself isn't intuitively designed. The caps that hold things together are prone to popping off or making the layer above that slide around, and the metal panels were sliding out of the links while I built until I got more zip ties and went wild with them. I got it because I needed to separate unfixed cats between appointments for spaying/neutering (to keep males/females separate) and just by existing in the thing, they end up knocking down the bottom platform sometimes. It makes me worry the structural integrity may end up being thrown off. It's a bit disheartening. It's done the job, though, and hasn't collapsed and made kitty pancakes of my cats, so I can't say it's completely useless. I just wish it had been a bit better quality, and perhaps a little easier to work with in general. ... show more

for 1 cat it would work, but putting a cat tree in it just doesn't work with that kind of installation. So, in order for it to work for 4 kittens, I had to purchase another one and extend it so I can put their cat tree and have more space. The zip ties to hold it together is just insane! The brackets that come with it, when the cats start playing and depending on their weight and the impact without zipties they definitely won't hold. Some of the frames are broken and I had to go to Home Depot and do my own adjustments and use different brackets (that lock). Even the door hinges/lock doesn't work good. If it works great for others then it is fine, but I was not going to use 200 zipties to hold something together (though I use zipties all the time, it was just too much work). I don't think they sent us the right product but I am not going to keep going back and forth via email when I have kittens that need a place to play and nap! I happened across this while trying come up with a way to keep our new brave kitten away from our dogs until he got bigger. I'm so glad that I got this. Other than the directions not being completely informative, it really wasn't that bad to assemble. Once you get started, it's pretty easy to figure out. The zip ties were a real pain in the behind. Would have been more visably pleasing to the eye if they were black like the cage instead of a frosty white but it is what it is. The kitten has lots of room and I loved that his cat tree fits inside. The cage, once fully assembled is pretty sturdy. Would have preferred a bottom to the cage but we just cut a piece of outdoor rug. He seems pretty happy and content in it. The clips for the doors are a little on the iffy side for keeping the doors secure. May have to be something I need to revise once he gets bigger. All in all, I'm very pleased with it. ... show more

Got it for my cat to be able to go in and out as she please on the back porch. She kept wanting to go around the neighborhood which has a lot of dogs running around. She practically enjoys it now and I like the added security I can walk in and sit and leave door open for my cat go back and forth. I had put a net because of the Bugs. My cat loves it.
