So we have been keeping our cats out of all the bedrooms, bathrooms, and laundry room. Problem is that if you keeep doors closed for months at a time, air doesn't circulate as well as it should and some rooms start to get an odor. So we ordered these in order to be able to leave the doors cracked open and be stationary in the position to allow proper airflow in our home. These do that task perfectly. They seem well made and are super simple. I became aggressive with it to test it by shaking, bumping, pushing, and pulling on the door. Needless to say, it didn't move. We have large round door knobs and these fit perfectly. It's a little tight fit to get them on at first so be prepared to maybe twist the plastic a touch, but it takes less then 5 secs to install, lol. The metal piece that fits into the door frame lock strike plate has a lip on it so that it doesn't just slid out which I thought was a nice added benefit. And it's easily adjustable depending on how much you want the door to be open. I could see it being used in a cat a dog household and using it allowing a cat sanctuary to be found in a room because the dog would be too big to fit through. We will use these and I will give another update after a few months of use (if I remember to). But right now, I would recommend these to anyone who needs to keep a door cracked open. My cat has just been neutered so I bought this to keep the cats separated but possible to interact once they were ready. It has one nub that leaves an extra small gap (an inch or so), and the rest of the nubs hold the door open for a small cat size and larger. It’s easy to remove when needing to go in, but on the smallest setting it’s almost impossible to unlatch it to get out. Very strong hold, my husband tried to get through the door and almost broke the frame so that was good enough for us to keep out a cat. We don’t have a dog so it doesn’t need to be this strong so it’s probably good for large dogs. ... show more

I like that it’s easy to install and remove. It worked as a barrier for my well trained dogs but a more determined dog might break through. The only problem I’ve had is the cross piece that secures it to the door knob pops off frequently and has to be reattached. I love these. We often have guests stay with us and my cat wants to hide from them in our bedroom. I used to prop the bedroom door with a shoe but the cat would push the shoe so that the door is open much wider than it needs to be. Our dog had made a habit out of sneaking out of our room at night to eat all of the cat food. No more! This door holder works great. The cats can come and go but the dog can't get out. This is very easy to use. I like that there is no permanent screws or installation.
