I have been looking for a good set of kayak roof racks for a while so I jumped at the chance to try these out! With Summer quickly approaching we are already a few weeks away from our big family camping trip so I was super excited to scoop these up to use to bring our Kayaks with us! Up on opening the package I was very pleased with how thick and sturdy these are. Very well made from very heavy duty and durable material. Not super cheap or easily bendable. These are so much better than the name brand roof racks we had previously for our kayaks as these are much more padded with more grip to them than the other ones. So you can rest assured this will offer great protection for your kayaks, as well as the roof of your car! My husband was easily able to get these installed in no time on our GMC Terrain roof racks. I do have to say just check the measurements beforehand and make sure that it will fit with your SUVs roof rack, but as long as you do that it is smooth sailing from there! I already tried putting the kayaks up there with the kayak racks and I was very pleased with how well they were held in and secured! I definitely feel like our kayaks will be very safe driving down the road with these as the grip on them is outstanding! These came with all the parts you will need as well to get it all put together and anchored on! Really could not be happier with the price as well! Especially for two sets for both of our kayaks! I definitely think it's an excellent value for your money especially how well it works and how nice and heavy duty it is! I'm thinking about getting a set for my sister as well as a birthday present because she kayaks a whole lot and her other kayak rack is just not standing up to the challenge very well. Planning a summer for the kids and seeing family can be a big undertaking. One trip that is for sure happening is heading to the Cape and going Kayaking. My husband who is from New England introduced this to me many years ago, and we love this experience. Now that our kiddos are teens, this is going to be a spectacular summer. Now in regards to this Kayak Roof Rack, I did a lot of research on different types, and I kept coming back to this brand FORWODE. The roof rack was made with premium grade material and is very durable. What's great is that this package comes with 2. We usually have spent way more, but this is a great dupe and very strong- simple to use. Below, I will outline some of the other features that I thought to be important when making this decision. *Design: J-Bar Roof rack- Premium grade material- Folding and Adjustable -(4) pieces in total *Functionality: this is incredible- the rack has a 180 degree rotation capability that works like a charm *Material: Carbon Steel - very durable and will provide great longevity *Treated to be anti-rust *Weight max: 150-160 lbs *Variety: this order I decided on the two pack, but they ALSO have a one pack *Multiple uses: you can use this for other sports equip- skis, snow boards- plethora of options to choose from *Thickened foam protection *Dimensions for your reference: 21.25 x 13.3 x 10.6 inches with a weight of 28.2 lbs All in all, I find that the designer did a fantastic job in creating this Kayak Roof Rack. The unit is solid and did not show any signs of distress, defects or damage. The installation was simple due to the great instructions on how to do it. This set of kayak racks is great. They fit our standard roof racks very well. They are easy to figure out and hold both kayaks without any rattling or instability that we can see. I like that they fold down when not in use so that we can leave them on the roof during the week and not have to reinstall them every weekend before we head out to the river. Living near the MIssissippi is an easy drive to launch them so we don't want to put the racks on and off every Friday and Sunday. Not that it's hard to install and remove these, it just makes it easier to be able to fold them down. ... show more

These J Bars for your roof rack was easy to install, and they look good. The included clip/securing straps for the paddles are a bonus. The J Bars hold my two kayaks with no issues and they the fact that they fold down when not in use is great - it makes the look on my vehicle so much cleaner. These came with all the hardware needed, and all the straps to secure the boats properly! They are a bit different in their layout from the big brand, but they give you a lot of choices of angles, including flat for different boats. They also include an attachment to secure the oar to the rack! Personally, I prefer to keep that in the car, but nice to have the option! They seem very well made, perhaps a bit heavier than the big brand, but i think they will hold up very well. I look forward to many seasons of use from these, they should make getting the boats to different locations quite easy! These are very solid, quality racks to transport your kayaks. The thickness and build of these racks, vs cheaper options, is outstanding. While those worked, these immediately feel safer and are thickly padded, protecting both your boats and car. They were fairly easy to set up, and after it's secure, allows a lot of customization on use, making this ideal for many different boats and ways to carry them. You can also attach the oar to the rack, which is a new option but quite convenient, especially when it's wet.
