My son is not a strong swimmer and wouldn’t be able to hold his head above the surface for a long period of time, but doesn’t really need the big bulky infant life vest anymore. This is perfect! It keeps him floating even when he stops paddling and kicking and it’s not super bulky and awkward. It fits him pretty snug with still a little room to grow. Look at the comparison between the brightness of this floaty versus the dark one the other kids were wearing. Bright green allows you to spot your child easier. The crotch rope eliminates the possibility of it slipping off. The back highlighter green strap allows for the child to be pulled to safety. It fit in my luggage. The fact that it has the additional rope attached whistle was ideal-one Caviot- when the whistle is wet it does not work well. We had my son practice in the lake (see above pictures) and he couldn’t blow the whistle successfully-which is the whole point. That needs a bit of an update. ... show more

So far so good with this life jacket. I had no idea what the orange thing was that was hanging off my son, until he tried blowing into it and we realized it’s a whistle!! That’s such a great addition to this!
