I purchased three 52" Minka ceiling fans, despite the average reviews, because they were the only ones I could find with a modern, minimalistic design that suited the space in my new house. Unfortunately, after just a few months of very sporadic use, two of the fans have started making an unacceptable amount of noise. Additionally, one of them seems to interfere with the electrical circuit, causing the lights to dim on and off whenever I turn it on. Now, I’ll have to replace all three fans, resulting in a total loss of my investment. The quality has been disappointing, and these issues have made the fans more of a hassle than they’re worth. I would strongly recommend potential customers look elsewhere for a more reliable product." ... show more

I was looking for a fan that would really cool off my bedroom, as well as look sleek and not draw a lot of attention to it. Well this fan was perfect. I got it in white so it almost "blends" in to the ceiling and looks very light and airy. Best of all, it cools the room off very well. There are 4 settings, and we have used this fan some nights that we would otherwise have to have used the air conditioner. You can really feel it moving air. The fan is very quiet, but you sometimes hear the air moving (but not the fan motor). There is no remote, it comes with a wall switch. Great fan - looks good and keeps up cool! ... show more

    • Minimalist design, powerful performance
I have been crazily looking for these gray fans for my new home renovation and only Amazon has it in stock. Most of the gray/white colors is on back order in major websites. And it is delivered within 3 days, in time for my electrician to install it. I like it that it has a wall controller as I do not like remote controller which spoil the minimalist look. The wall control is also of the same standard size of a light switch. I bought 2 sets and have them installed with the shorter rods in my bedrooms which has 2 light switches. I asked my electrician to use a 3 gang wall plant to line the fan controller together with the light switches giving it a clean look. My DH actually commented that these are the best thing we have decided to change in our new house as we don't have AC and there was a weekend when the temperature soared to 90ish. We just hid in one of the rooms with the fan on to speed 3. The fan is quiet, stable, and sleak. I only like modern and simple design which can be hard to find at this price range. ... show more

This is a very simple and elegant fan (in silver), that is virtually inaudible and lower speeds, and at higher speeds it is more the sound of the air than the internal motor you would hear. I had no need for lights, and only needed the fan, so this model was perfect. In addition to the fan, I purchased: - 24" down-rod (nearly perfect color match) - Sloped ceiling kit for slopes to 45 degrees. The fan's instructions state that it can be mounted up to a 22 degree slope. As my ceiling is 35 degrees, I ordered the additional kit to be safe. Install was performed by an electrician and it took 2.5 hours from unpack until clean up and leave. So why not 5 stars? Because: - the circular trim in the center of the fan has minor indentations around the edge and and in some other spots. I noticed this after the electrician was gone, and I saw him work, so I know it was not damaged during the install. I was not about the call him back and go through the trouble of repackaging and sending the unit back, reschedule another instal, etc. You can almost make out the darker spot in the picture with finger pointing at the approximate spot of the dimples. - The remote has its highest speed at 1, and lowest at 4. I find that counterintuitive. We thought perhaps this was caused by the polarity of the wiring, and we reversed them, but still, 1 was fast, and 4 slow. - Air movement is best just under the fan, with a fairly narrow sweet spot. Overall, I am happy with the purchase so far, and will revise the rating if my experience changes. ... show more

I looked forever for a flat white, non glossy fan that had no light kit. This is the one! It blends in nicely with the ceiling and is very quiet. We purchased the remote separately. This one comes with a wall/fan switch. You can either use the included wall/fan switch or the remote, not both. We decided to get the remote. Basically you just leave the regular wall light switch on all the time and control the fan with the remote. I love this fan. I hate the look of fans overall, but this one does the job without being obvious. A+ ... show more
