In some reviews people say the material is soft, others report it is not. I ordered a black pair Xl (I am a size 12.). These are little baggier than I expected and the material is soft but the texture does not flow or drape like a tshirt material would, as it appears they do in the photo. (This draped look is the look I wanted). This Material is thick and feels more like a very thick starched dress shirt would, which means the very wide leg opening holds its round shape and does not lay against your leg as you move. Since I have thinner legs, the wide leg almost looks like it has wire ring holding in its round shape. As I move my hips, the shorts stay stiff and don’t not move with me. Not at all happy about that. If you are more pear shaped, this may not be an issue. They will be a very cozy short to wear around the house so will keep them. I am wondering if the different colors may come in textures (as light and dark denim are always different too). The pics of the lighter colors show a very textured material that has a weave that is allowing the material to drape and flow. I may try ordering a different lighter color just to see. If your looking for for that draped look in the photo, don’t order the black, try a different color thats texture is very visible in the pics. I did wash and dry, not much shrinkage at all(the one time I was hoping there would be lol). They look o.k. Without ironing even though the material is thick but they do wrinkle a lot in front as you sit so ironing wouldn’t matter anyway. Being that I have black, it does not show to bad but if the lighter colors are the same way, it would be very obvious. I gave them a 4 because they are good quality. These shorts have a different material than shown in the picture. They’re still cute, but definitely not what I expected. They’re more stiff and don’t have the same look.

The material was not like I thought it would be. It is thicker and less of a cotton “beach” material. It was also high waisted and I tend to go for low waisted pants/shorts bc of my body type. Could work for some people but just wasn’t my style!

    • Works for knee surgery

I got these because I had knee surgery and wanted something easy to get on and off over the brace. So I ordered them a couple sizes larger than I usually would. Glad I did because the 3x is huge but with the drawstring it works. It easily slides over the monstrosity currently making my life hell. They’re soft and comfortable. The pockets are magic since carrying anything in my hands is treacherous at best. I ordered another pair in blue, hopefully they don’t disappoint because my life currently revolves around being as comfortable as possible. I gave them 4 stars because they don’t quite look like the picture, shrunk a bit in the wash and after a couple wears there’s piling… but hey they’re cheap and they suit my needs. I have no plans of ever wearing them anywhere nice, after my terminator leg is free they’ll become sleep, lounge or beach wear. Update: call this part a 2 star review The blue came in a poly linen mix. Not as stretchy or as comfortable. Husband says they remind him of “what old ladies wear to the wild animal park”. Unfortunately he told me after we washed them so they’re buried at the bottom of the donation pile. Hopefully no one will ever see my shame. ... show more
