The fan was really easy to install. All the parts are clearly marked and the instructions are clear. If you've ever installed a ceiling fan, this is a breeze. I didn't even have to balance the blades. I love the low profile since I have a low ceiling in my dining room. The fan looks really nice, not cheap. I run it mostly on low. I did replace my dimmer wall switch as it created a buzz in the motor. After installing a standard switch, the buzz disappeared. ... show more

Item was well packed, installation instructions very good . . . but read wiring instructions veery carefully! (On page 6 of Assembly Instructions see Note: "If there is a second live/hot wire coming from the outlet box, connect it to the blue (light power) wire for separate light and fan control." This instruction is contrary to Fig 5 on this same page, which shows both the Blue and Black wires from the fan to be connected to a Black (live) wire from the outlet box, which is a wiring configuration for an outlet box without separate wires for the fan and the light) Seems like a quality item, easy to install; design quite clever, as it allowed hanging heavy fan motor from ceiling bracket while completing wiring, rather than having to hold the motor while completing wiring. With competent spouse to help with tools, etc. it took about an hour to remove originally installed ceiling light (only) and mount this item in the previously pre-wired - light and fan - outlet. Some competence with electrical stuff was handy, otherwise I recommend hiring an electrician! Will update after some time with this item. ... show more
