I picked this fan because I liked the streamlined style; the size was right for our small room; and I wanted the pull strings instead of the remote-- just to keep it simple. We installed it today. Took less than an hour and definitely helped to have to 2 people. Directions were clear and all the parts were included. I appreciate that the low setting for the fan creates a gentle breeze and isn't so fast that it will keep me up at night or dry my eyes out.     • Good lookin’ beefy little bugger

Building a cabin right now and the rooms are a little smaller than standard-sized house rooms, so looked everywhere for a small fan (in the 24-36” range) that looked halfway rustic and also had a downrod and was capable of being hung on an angled ceiling. Finally found this guy, although was leery of the look of the frosted glass bulb enclosure at first. Put this together and first impression is that it is well-made, good components even though made overseas, and beefy and nice and heavy for it’s size! Which is a good thing. Not so heavy that you’re worried about it’s weight, just heavy in that it’s components are obviously of a good and substantial material. This thing looks nice. The color of the blades and houses is natural enough to go well with a rustic look, and the frosted glass enclosure adds a touch of class without interfering with the rustic look. Really adds a nice touch of character to the room! Also, the ceiling in which I installed this is a 4/12 pitch, just inside the limits of ceiling angle it states it can accept, and because the blades are small enough, I actually decided to stick with the 4” downrod it came with and not change that out to a 12” downrod, which would have made it hang too low. On the 4” downrod, the blades have about a 4-5” clearance to the ceiling at their tips, which I know is not “ideal”, you want 10” or so, but hanging this around the 8’ height of our ceiling it had to be with the 4” downrod. For it to look right with a 12” downrod you’d have to move it up the angled ceiling where it now is at almost the 10’ ceiling height mark, which was beyond the room at that point. So for me I ordered the 12” downrod, put the fan together with the 4” downrod it came with, and then held the fan up in it’s ideal spot with the 4” downrod at ceiling height and then also held the fan up and simulated what the fan would look like with the 12” downrod in hand next to it. Unless you have really high ceilings, you’ll find a longer downrod will not look right. If your ceiling pitch is greater than what this states it is rated for, all you need to do is order a separate canopy for it that accepts steeper angles. I had to do this for a living room ceiling fan for our cathedral living room ceilings that are 9/12 pitch. Not a big deal. So overall, this fan for it’s price for the bill nicely and looks great! This is an attractive fan. It’s also the first ceiling fan i’ve ever installed. It is much heavier than the fan I was replacing so I’m a bit scared it’s going to rip the outlet box from the ceiling. It’s rated for a fan but apparently has never been tested before considering how light the existing fan was. It will take some time before I trust walking under it. Maybe they need to be this heavy to put out such strong wind. No complaints there. I can’t imagine ever needing the high setting, as it is medium might blow papers off your desk. The included bulbs are a sickly yellow hue so I ordered daylight LEDs. They’re not an abundantly common size and wattage and I ended up paying $16 for the replacement bulbs to get some in daylight instead of the gross orange yellow the included bulbs put out, $16 adds 20% to the fan cost. Kind of annoying. During installation I discovered that outlet box in my ceiling isn’t perfectly level, it’s off by a mm or two. I originally put the mounting bracket level so one side wasn’t quite as tight as the other and the fan made a huge racket. So I took the canopy back off and tightened that side, the down rod allows for the slightly un-level installation and it’s pretty quiet now. Nothing to do with Honeywell but a word of caution to others, if you’re replacing a fan with a larger canopy make sure you know what’s under the existing canopy first. I never thought about it, luckily this covers the hole but it appears the ceiling has been painted since the old fan went up and they didn’t bother dropping the canopy when they painted so now I have a discolored circle on my ceiling. The media could not be loaded. Perfect fit in our 8'x8' laundry room! The 3 speeds are more than adequate to move the air around. Would probably do a great job in a larger room too. Solid construction, quality parts, fit and finish is really nice. We went with the white blade color showing but the reverse light wood tone is a nice option and looks modern. The two 5 watt bulbs provide illumination for a room this size, but we'll probably step up to brighter bulbs like another reviewer mentioned. Pretty easy to install with 2 people (we're not particularly handy; I dropped the short screws quite a few times). The video has sound, the fan was on the lowest speed and it was virtually silent! Higher speeds are quieter than expected as well. And it doesn't wobble (comes with a blade balancing kit- if you even need it)! I recommend this fan as a good buy! ... show more
