  • Working great for my turkeys! No leaking, the cups filling and staying full as designed
Pattern Name: Pack of 5
I have been using these cups for a few weeks now and they are working great for my turkeys. I use nipple drinkers for the chickens but felt my turkeys needed a different watering solution. After some research, I decided to give these a try and I'm glad I did. Installation was easy, although I strongly suggest drilling pilot holes and stepping up in size to make for a cleaner hole. I initially tried drilling an older bucket that turned out to be too brittle and half way through drilling the first hole the plastic cracked. A newer bucket didn't have that issue. The wingnuts provided makes for a very secure and water tight fit of the cup to your bucket, and although both me and the turkeys have bumped into the cups, there hasn't been any damage to their function or any leaking. Suspending my bucket probably helps reduce the force of an impact vs if you had the bucket up on blocks, I'm guessing. ... show more

  • Works great! Chickens love it.
Pattern Name: Pack of 5
Super easy to install the cups in a 5 gallon bucket. Took me longer to find the right size drill bit than actually installing the cups. The order came with five cups. I installed four and kept the last one in reserve in case I need to replace one. Chickens took to it right away. I've only had two issues. Both were User Error. First: I was using this inside the house in the brooder to get the chicks used to it before moving everyone and everything to the coop. Not so easy to clean the cups indoors since they keep refilling. Didn't completely think that one through. Second: One of the cups became loose one day and created a slow leak. (I have been putting bottles of frozen water into the bucket to keep the water cool and probably knocked it loose during that process.) I didn't discover it until the next day and by that time the bucket was completely empty. It was +90 degrees that day. Tightened it up, refilled the bucket, and everything was fine (including the chickens). I, however, am still suffering mental anguish for not paying more attention. Lesson learned. ... show more

  • Nice DIY solution, but could be sturdier
Pattern Name: Pack of 5
UPDATE: Bevan from Lil Clucker reached out about my experience and was very helpful. I updated my review to 4 instead of 3 stars. I really appreciate a brand that pays attention to customer experiences and works to make things better when something goes wrong. This gives me a lot more confidence in this company! We’ve used these for 3 months on a 5-gallon bucket. Overall, I like them, but with some caveats. Pros: Very easy to install. In 15 minutes I went from parts and a bucket to a waterer for our flock of 20. allows us to fill up the water every 3+ days instead of daily, Water stays pretty clean Cons: The valve inside seems fragile. 2 out of our ten quit working after they got bumped. They cups can start leaking without you realizing it. I’m replacing some of our cups with a new set now because one started leaking terribly, draining the entire 5 gallon bucket. We didn’t realize what was happening at first, so now the run is pretty wet in that spot. I’ll try this set of replacement cups and if I have trouble I won’t buy again. ... show more

  • Very Happy with this for my PVC Pipe Install...BUT....
Pattern Name: Pack of 5
The media could not be loaded. I wanted to install them on a 1" PVC line directly from a 5 gallon water jug. It works GREAT, but it was trial and error to keep it from leaking. Here's what I did wrong: 1. I drilled the 3/8ths holes as recommended, but they were too large. 2. The holes I drilled were not perfectly in a straight line, allowing some cups to fill but not other. 3. I used plumbers tape on the cups, but plumbing cement does NOT bind to it. 4. The Round characteristics of PVC pipe does NOT work well for these cups, as the backing is flat. Ultimately the system leaked...a LOT. Here are my tips/recommendations for a successful PVC install: Placing the PVC pipe in my mounted vice grip (not necessary unless you have O.C.D.), I: 1. snapped a chalk line to make a straight line down the PVC for my holes. 2. used a 5/8ths bit (not the 3/8ths bit as recommended) for the holes. 3. used a flat bar file on the PVC over the holes (see photo). This opened up the holes to the perfect width for the cups, and provided the necessary surface to mount the cups. 4. Lastly, I used a finer grit sand paper (220) to ensure the areas I filed down, AND the inside diameter of the holes in the PVC were nice and smooth. Then I removed all file/sand paper shavings, dirt and debris thoroughly. Important NOTE: Using just PVC cement was not enough. Get a PVC Primer / Cement kit, follow the directions, and do not use plumbers tape. (Obviously I am not a plumber so I didn't know this) Additionally, I installed a valve just distal to the water source. Because we use niacin/vitamin supplements in the water, I wanted to make sure the mix was good before it ran down from the 5-gallon jug into the cups. I mounted the 5 Gallon jug and cut a hole in it wide enough for my hose. Its been about 2 weeks since the final install, and I am VERY HAPPY with the results. The chickens and ducks love it, it is super easy to fill, and most importantly, there is no more nasty duck water mess! ... show more

Pattern Name: Pack of 5
The cups were easy to install. Our chickens, ducks and turkeys immediately started drinking from them and so far we have had no problem with the product.

  • You won’t be disappointed!
Pattern Name: Pack of 5
The cups are well designed, are robust, and larger than the standard, allowing each cup to hold more water, and hopefully tolerate more abuse. Fortunately, the spacing on my holding tank easily accommodated the change in dimensions because of the larger circumference of each cup. Highly recommend!

  • Not enough seals
Pattern Name: Pack of 8
Appears to be a good product but can’t use 5 cups due to no seals for them. Need to check the product before shipping
