I purchased this mat to put under a waterproof pad for my sloppy dogs water bowl. I just wanted something very thin to help protect the hardwood floor, that wouldn't slip & slide all over the place. This mat is VERY thin. It has a "sticky" side which has kept it from moving. It's a rubbery material and can be wiped off or rinsed off in the sink when needed. I love the size and ease of cleaning it. I discovered I have a talent for sculpting clay to make Harry Potter wands, and needed something to protect my table. Even hot glue comes right off. It’s perfect for painting etc. and it’s so easy to clean afterwards

Its a big but thin rubber mat. It works. The only thing I would lean on the side of caution when buying is if you have pets. My dog's hair sticks to it like a magnet. Otherwise it seems to be made of decent quality and protects my desk well.

The product was shipped folded into quarters and this left creases in the material that will not go away. As a result it will not lie flat. It's an annoyance and not a product flaw, but buyers should be aware of this before a purchase. I was surprised that acrylic paint made permanent marks in the material that will not come off with a moderate amount of scrubbing under soap and running water. They are pretty light, and might come off with subsequent washing, but I thought the silicone would be a lot more resistant to staining. ... show more
