I was super excited taking out the knives and placing them in the block when the product was delivered, as I was putting them in the block I noticed chips and scratches on the block, and I was not provided a Chef Knife, I received 2 8" Santoku Knives . . The packaging was "Ok", I have not put them to use as of yet so the verdict is still out, however . . on my counter next to my Air Fryer, it looks of great quality and I look forward to giving these knives a try. ... show more

    • serrated too deep
The serrated edges on the bread knife and the steak knives are too deep. When you use them you wind up tearing through items unless you use exaggerated sawing strokes. The other knives are acceptable

    • Steel and rivets rise above handles and are sharp
This knife set has excellent X50CrMoV15 steel, that should be the number one choice when buying a set. Highly rust resistant. Thats the good part. The biggest problem is that the steel and rivets in the handle rise above the wood on the handle and the set I had it was sharp, every knife, all the rivets all the tongs on each handle, made holding any knife a very uncomfortable and risky choice. I wasn't expecting perfection at this price, just functionality with good steel. But the wood looked nothing like the picture. The block had a huge rough defect in it, it and the handle wood on each knife looked like it had 10 years of wear on it. I could and would have sanded them and stained them but I wasn't going to try to ground down every the tong and rivets on every handles. I did see other reviews that mentioned returns because the steel stuck above the wood handles but if they said sharp. I wouldn't have bought. Your set may or may not have this problem. I've got a return code and will be looking for a set with same steel or 4116 steel which is so close to this grade it makes no difference which type you have. To bad its to hard for the mfg to make proper handles, this would have been a 10 star set, even with a block that needs sanding. ... show more
