This set impresses! I got this set for my wife to replace our ten-year-old set. The all-black blades and handles give these knives a sophisticated look. There are an appropriate variety of blades for everyday needs. And they are sharp. Very pleased!

We were really in need of a new knife set and decided to give this one a try due to the price and number of pieces included. We have been using it now for a couple of months and have had no issues. The knives are very sharp and have a nice black coating on the blade. I was a bit worried about this but so far, they still look brand new and regular use has not marred the finish. The handles are a light plastic and don't feel particularly beefy, but they feel good in your hand, and they are easy to cut with. Admittedly, we don't use some of the knives in this set just because there's no need. If you do a lot of cooking, you may use more of them and I would expect the quality and performance to be just as good as the others. So far so good. I've never had a knife set with a knife block and this one is great! The knives are top quality. They are easy to hold and use. There is a sharpener on the block itself and it is great not only for these knives but for the other kitchen knives I have. This is a nice set of knives. They're plenty sharp and lightweight. The finish has stayed on even with repeated use in the dishwasher.

This is a very nice knife set. I had some mismatched knives, so I needed a new set. This knife block wasn't really needed because I prefer to keep as much off the counters as possible. The block is nice looking and sure to fit into any decor, it is heavy and has a knife sharpener built in which is wonderful. UPDATE: After a fair bit of use, I am bumping my review up a star because it’s a generally a really great set that I use daily. If you are buying this for yourself, DO IT. Well worth the money. I would just hesitate giving this as a gift due to the initial smell and small blemishes that I have personally forgotten about, but might be off putting for someone to receive without knowing what they are getting. I would buy this if you 1. Like the all black look 2. Need a comprehensive set of knives just starting out 3. Need a quick assortment of knives just to equip a 2nd home or B&B. The block wreaks of paint but that seems to be slowly going away. Most everything I received had noticeable bumps and scratches despite being extremely well packaged. The knives themselves are a good assortment of knifes without them all be serrated like some cost effect blocks tend to be. Everything looks nice, but feels really cheap in the hand. Also the ergonomically shaped handles are nice for bread and steak knifes but weird to work around on the slicing blades where you would typically tend to pinch the blade when cutting. ... show more
