I bought these specifically because I was looking for a high quality/affordable set of knives. I am a bit of a hobby chef, and I rent two rooms out to others who also cook for fun, You can imagine that we all enjoy a good quality knife set, but price is a factor as we aren't actually profesionals. These knives would be suitable for either. So far all three of us have commented at the great build quality of this set. They arrived razor sharp and will cut through large onions with ease (I actually cut myself and didn't even realize it) The handles are comfortable and the block looks elegant. It's also really cool that you can take the cooking knife section out. I am honestly considering buying a set of these for my sister and brother in law. If these knives hold up as well as the quality suggests I'll probably own them forever. ... show more

I got this set for my wife as she wanted a nice knife set. She really likes the look and design a lot but I'm only giving this 4 stars which I think is very generous considering.... first, the rotating base was falling apart from the block right out of the package. I did manage to fix it so I'll let that slide. And second, although the knives came with very sharp blades, they don't hold up long. I'm not going to hold the makers of the knives accountable though, because my wife is very hard on knives. Don't tell her I said that though. ... show more

This set is just gorgeous. Aside from the slick, fingerprint-magnet wooden block and slightly wobbly swivel, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. A textured wood would provide a more natural look and is less slated for constant wipe-downs, but no biggy at all. Being that I'd narrowly bought the last one available only makes it that much more awesome and those rather minor issues worth it. I almost don't even want to use this set, they're so attractive. The lip on the bottom serves perfectly as a phone holder, when spending prolonged periods in the kitchen also. Set was roughly packaged, but brand new. Too many pros and not enough cons to mention.
