Can’t comment on longevity but it is sharp and sturdy out of the box and looks great. Good value if brand name and warranty is considered. This is an awesome set! The knives are heavy and sharp and they seem sturdy. The knife block is beautiful and the sharpener works well. It even has 2 pairs of scissors and some nice steak knives. Highly recommend!

Let’s start with my only disappointment the steak knives work well but the weight is not what you would want for quality steak knife …that said ergonomically they are great and cut well.. the rest of the knives have the desired weight and cut with precision. I’ve had some crappy knife sets given as gifts that were 89-199 and these crush all of them .. for $49 these are 5 stars if this was $99 I would give it 4 stars . I have one expensive chef knife that I paid $100 for the chef knife isn’t that but cuts tomatoes with ease and precision ... show more

I LOVE kitchenaid but they fell really short on these knives. Followed instructions to the t and two have rusted within the first month. They are sharp and look nice but the rust is a no go for me.
