So, on my son’s urging (because I’m stubborn and was sticking to my manual opener), I decided to try this gadget. Eureka! It’s just wonderful! It works just as advertised, is compact (fits in my silverware drawer), and has saved me a lot of discomfort in opening cans, and works with the touch of a button! It was great when it worked, now it won’t turn on. I’ve replaced the batteries several times. It’s really slow if it does turn on like it wants to start. Reminds me of trying to start an old car that has sat in the cold garage all winter. Sometimes if you put it on the can, turn it on and it catches the lid it literally revs up enough to cut the lid but it’s not reliable at all. Great little machine if it actually worked. I’ve opened a few dozen cans since purchasing and it’s still going strong on my first set of batteries. This is the first review that I write and it’s just because I want to warn people. Amazon had great customer service and the company did send me a replacement. The original product I got did not open cans and the second one only opened two and stopped working by the third. To top it all off, the batteries leaked as I removed them from the product and once left aside started making random noises. I do appreciate the company trying to make it right by sending a replacement, however, they should not be selling a product that stops working on the third can and does not do well with batteries. Putting them in and taking them out was hard too so they need to improve the battery component as well as the product itself. ... show more
