The media could not be loaded. Great for support of mobility issues. Easy to operate. I only gave 4 stars because it can be tricky to remove the can opener from the can, and it is slower to use than a manual opener. If it doesn’t work at first, it is because you need to supply batteries.

    • Stopped working and No Response from Kitchen Mama

It stopped working after using it about 7-8 times to open cans.. I tried replacing the batteries but it still did not work. I used the Kitchen mama website product support and sent them a message. They sent a message to me stating in order to process a replacement I was required to answer a list of questions about the what was broken on the device. None of the questions were related to what was not working on my can opener. I have sent 2 other messages on their support site- no response. It’s very frustrating dealing with their website support due to it requires filling out the same form each time I go to it. There doesn’t seem to be any cache of messages & responses- I have to start over each time. Apparently, there is no support…. ... show more

I haven’t had an automatic can opener since the 1970s when I used a standard plug-in electric. But now with a rotator cuff issue, it has become excruciating to use a manual can opener. So, on my son’s urging (because I’m stubborn and was sticking to my manual opener), I decided to try this gadget. Eureka! It’s just wonderful! It works just as advertised, is compact (fits in my silverware drawer), and has saved me a lot of discomfort in opening cans, and works with the touch of a button! Also, as stated, it works well even on the cans with pull-top rings that some of us seniors have such a time with (all but pop cans). I highly recommend this little gem if you’re in the market for a little help in the kitchen 😊! ... show more

This can opener works reasonably well. It opens the can dependably, and there are no sharp edges as was advertised. It is a little hard to attach it to the can, but after doing it a few times it's not that bad. A visitor to my kitchen had a hard time with it though. My only real complaint with it is how slowly it works. I've had other openers of this type, and this one takes more than twice as long to get around the can as any of the others. If I'm opening more than one can at a time I end up reaching for the old crank opener to speed the process. A very short life plagued the other openers of this type that I've had. I haven't had this one long enough to comment on that aspect. I think the slower speed will help the plastic gears inside last longer. Is that a worthwhile trade-off for you? ... show more
