It's easy. It balances well and, mostly,tends to itself. It's a bit on the loud side but it works great. Removing the lid from the canned item can be a bit difficult and messy. You don't remove the lid like the other ways. Cut quality seems to be just fine... No issues there. Gripping is good. Have had no issues regarding the safety of this item as yet. It worked great at first but you have to use pretty powerful batteries or they will go dead fast. I love that I don't have to struggle with my fingers and hands with a hand can opener. After daily use for a month the contacts for the batteries start working and I thought it was the can opener had died. But I checked the little springs in the Device, Improved the battery contacts and it works well again.I think the springs are a weakness in the device. ... show more

I love this item. My 85 yr old hands cannot deal with hand held can opens which are hard to turn. This opener is amazing. There is no effort whatsoever. You set it on the can and push a button and it does the rest. A great invention and will still have during power outages from our severe Indiana weather and storms. Recommend to anyone have a hard time with opening cans. Can’t say enough about it ... show more

Dont buy this, save yourself the money and frustration. Its slow, barely cuts, the blade dulled after a small amount of use. Batteries die fast. I think ive used it maybe 5 times and each time been disappointed. You have to pry the lids off, and it only works on small can lids, dont even try it on large cans like large tomato sauce cans, it groans to a stop fast. I bought an electric one (of a diff brand) and its fantastic. This is just E-waste waiting to happen. ... show more

This device is half the size of its counterpart. But it also boosts half the power. It takes nearly a minute to open a can with 2 fresh AA batteries installed. I can open a can faster with my pocket knife. But unlike my pocket knife, this can opener is hands-free and allows me to do other things.

My husband and I both have problems using conventional can openers, and we finally donated one that he had bought for me at a store, because it kept dropping the can and spilling the contents! This one actually cuts the can BELOW the lid, and leaves an edge that is not sharp! No more bleeding when accidentally touching razor-sharp edges! Watch the video with the item, and make sure the cans for which you will be using it are the correct size and shape - this is perfect for most of them. Some complained about the need for replacing batteries, but there are so many cans that have a tab to open that we only need it for a few of them, and it doesn't take that long per can. The model we bought is only slightly larger than a computer mouse, so make sure you order the right one! ... show more
