    • IT'S ONLY 60 BUCKS! Great little amp but don't over think it.
I love this cool little 10W amp. Does it shake the walls? Nope. Can you keep up with an electric band? Nope. Is it great for practicing? Yep. Is is great for an acoustic band? Yep. Is the price fair? More than fair. This is enough amp for practicing and for getting your bass enough volume and tone to compete with 2 or three acoustic guitars. There are a couple of sweet-spot settings but this depends on yous bass, i.e active EQ vs Non active. I have a Blackstar Fly 3 (just 3W) with the extension cab. I liked it enough to use it with my upright bass at open air acoustic gigs with 3 acoustic guitars and a mandolin. So I compared the two amps side-by-side and the Joyo is louder and has better tone. For me, I put it on it's side with the 6" speaker on the bottom. It just sounds a little better. It's not actually white like in some pics. A kind of a pale yellow-ish color. It has a 1/4" instrument input, a headphone output and an auxiliary input. It uses six AA batteries (not included) or a very standard 9V power supply (included). ... show more

    • Very Nice Little Bass Amp - Five Stars!
My Joyo MA-10B arrived today. I put it through its paces and found it to be one terrific little bass practice amp. It is smaller than a toaster yet can fill a room with sound. For an amp its size, the sound is very good. I especially liked its tone on the clean channel with the both volume and gain knobs turned up. As one would expect, switching to the drive channel adds crunch. I am very happy with this little amp and highly recommend it. ... show more

    • Would Have Been Good If It Had Been Working...
When the amp arrived, it came three days ahead of schedule, so I was pretty excited. However, that excitement quickly disappeared once I opened up the box. First of all, this amp is extremely light weight. It looked, and felt, like it was made of cheap plastic. There also appeared to be scuffs and marks on it, potentially due to poor handling during shipping. For me, these issues were superficial, and I wouldn't care at all so long as it played well. However, based on my two star rating, you can probably guess how that turned out. There was terrible feedback as soon as I plugged in my bass. This awful ringing / humming noise would start as soon as my bass was connected, and only stopped once it was disconnected. When I touched my fingers to the strings, the ringing slightly subsided, but I would get shocked by electricity. Not only did the amp not, work but it was potentially dangerous. The only reason I am giving this so much as a two star rating is because I want to give Joyo the benefit of the doubt, and assume that I received an extremely faulty model. Also, underneath the electric shocks, ringing, and cheap materials, there was a pretty decent sound quality. When I plucked the strings, I could actually make out a pretty rich and full sound underneath all of the white noise. Anyways, this was an overall bad experience, and I will definitely not cheap out again when I buy an amplifier for my bass. ... show more

For the price is perfect for personal practice and for rehearsal in a pinch. Light as a feather, lots of features including tone control, gain, high gain switch, Aux input, headphone out, Output volume. The bass output is not massive, and actually more kinda mid-range with a low end roll-off starting around 80hz. Can't really expect anything more for the cone size, preamp, and 10W output. Im fairly satisfied with the sound after some adjustments on my bass and the amp. A compressor pedal helps the tone immensely. Amp has a tendency to distort at higher volumes (this thing gets surprisingly loud!) but it's more of a gritty sound than a bad sound. Just be prepared if you plan to use it on 11. Very cool 80s feel to it with the off-white color and JOYO logo lit up in bright white LED. Hidden strap handles unscrew from the sides! Sweet. Overall a nicely functional amp for practicing bass, easy to transport, cool looking and while it has a "low cost feel" to it, is actually a huge bang for the buck! Competes with practice amps 3x as expensive that have less features. I wouldn't use it for a non-micd gig or in the studio but it's perfect for warmup, shedding or the bedroom. QUite nice little practice amp. Decent sound. Like the OD feature to beef up the sound. Use it to practice without making too much noise. I would use this to jam with buddies if they also had small battery powered amps. Great for outdoors where you don't have power. Came with the power adapter which saves batteries when inside. This has a 5inch speaker so gets more volume and also more lower sounding notes. So far working great and better than I had expected. ... show more

Believe me, this thing is louder than I thought it would be and for the price, it's an incredible bargain. Does it deliver the deep thumping tone you can get out of a big amp with a 12" or 15"speaker? No, not quite, but you can definitely dial in a tone that is unmistakably bass. I'm big on the Roland Micro Cube, of course...it's a great battery-powered bass amp...but you're going to have to pay $300 for one and I bought my Joyo MA-10B for $60! It's incredibly light, you can add a guitar strap and wear it over your shoulder on your back, and it's perfect for my Dean Exotica acoustic bass. No more being drowned out by an acoustic guitar or two at acoustic jams, whether at a backyard barbecue, camping out, or at the beach...I use Energizer rechargeable AA batteries. So next time someone asks you what's the best acoustic bass for an acoustic session, say "Hey, Fender, Ibanez, Guild, buy whatever you like, just make sure you buy a Joyo MA-10B! ... show more

    • The little amp that could!
I run a weekly acoustic guitar jam on the deck of a restaurant/bar on the beach. My gigantic Dean acoustic bass was inaudible even when using a pick and pounding it. This little amp was a big surprise. It provides enough volume that I can play comfortably and be heard, which really helps hold the group together. Plus it's practically weightless so adding it to what I have to carry to the jam is no problem. You're not going to use it to play with amplified guitars, but playing with a dozen guitars/ukuleles/banjos it makes a difference. This was a good buy! ... show more
