Kids love it. Easy to learn. Cool lights. Can go fast (8+ miles per hour). Important tip: you must calibrate the device before its first use. If you don’t do this, it will shake and will be impossible to ride. I think the bad reviews here are from people who didn’t calibrate at all or didn’t do it correctly. The calibration steps are very simple and it will only take a minute, so carefully follow the instructions on the sheet in the box before attempting to use the device. Other useful info: Instructions specify that ideal ride occurs with riders weights up to150 lbs, but the board would take up to 200 lbs. Also battery should be charged until the LED light on the power charger turns green from red , and you need to unplug it once it’s green to prolong battery life. Finally, we found the hover board to work best inside of our house on our tile floors. While it works outside, you do feel the bumps in the sidewalk and road and the kids didn’t like that too much. I purchased 3 of these Hoverboards for Christmas. One out of the three was bad. One Hoverboard would not hold a charge. I SUGGEST KEEPiNG THE BOX IN ORDER TO RETURN THE HOVERBOARD if it DOES NOT WORK. The return was easy in the original box and packaging. The boards are heavy. The company responded fast. The kids loved the two boards that worked well. They offer great colors, we ordered orange, teal, and steel-sky blue. The flashing lights are bright and colorful even indoors. ... show more

    • Didn't work AT FIRST
Update: my previous review stated the hoverboard didn't work, which at first it didn't and for a few days of doing exactly what the instructions said, nothing worked to get it calibrated and able to use. We had the hoverboard in its box ready to return with label and all and after deciding to wait another day bc the line at the drop-off was too long to wait in that day, my husband researched how to troubleshoot hoverboards and somehow got it working so now very relieved my son has his Christmas gift working and I don't have to bother with returning it anymore! 10 yr old ds saved his weekly allowance to buy a hoverboard. He has had/ridden it for almost 6 weeks now (delivered mid-May). He LOVES it! Rides it around the house all the time, and has gotten pretty good at "dancing" on it. We even discovered by accident that it has blue tooth (wasn't supposed to) so that was a bonus! A few times though, over the last couple of weeks, it has stopped (whilst riding) without warning. I hope this doesn't continue... ... show more

I just got this for my 7 year old son for Christmas and it made him the happiness kid in the world when he saw the hoverboard. He was impressed by the light show and the different colors it flashes. He still hasn’t figured out all the different functions it has like Bluetooth and ability to play music. But even without those fancy things, my son still absolutely LOVES THIS!!! And I will say it is very sturdy because he has ran in a couple of things before he got the hang of it but it didn’t take long before he mastered riding it. That’s probably because this hoverboard balances itself so the rider just stands up straight and pushes their feet forward to go. And it will go FAST lol, so I recommend a helmet and elbow/knee/hand protection for safety. This hoverboard is so easy to use and the whole family can join in the fun because the weight limit is pretty high that most of the family could ride it too.     • Bait and Switch & Rep refused to put real reason for our return!
Beware!!! IF you buy, even if the package and board look right Be sure to flip the board over and read the sku/upc numbers and manual. The product looked exactly as ordered but when it wasn't going as fast as stated and battery died quicker I took a closer look at the stickers and manual. It was NOT what we ordered. Externally, yes but Internally, NO! It was a cheap, knock off!!! My daughter and I had spent hours picking out just the right board since she was using her own birthday money and other helpful reviewers noted to be alert because each color choice determines the features, style and battery life and price!!! It would have never dawned on me that that a product with so many stars would be a bait and switch! The worst past was doing the return process. The Amazon Rep Refused to do the return under the title of receiving the wrong product!!! In order for my daughter to receive her money back and get a refund for the added warranty I had to agree to let the Rep list the reason incorrectly. This is all so wrong! This is why people are saying their boards are defective! But ours was not defective. It was deceiving!! I'd give negative stars if allowed. ... show more

    • My 5 year old LOVES it and rides all around the house
My 5 year old loves it! I got for her as a birthday gift and since my house is mainly hardwood, she rides it all over the house. The only downside is the battery life. It does die pretty quickly. But overall definitely WORTH the purchase!!

my 8yo saved up her chore money to buy this, and it was not dissapointing! She has had it for about a year now and it is still working great. She only uses it inside, so maybe that is why it has held up so great. It charges quickly, and has never backfired or stopped suddenly on her. I would highly recommend! ... show more
