The Jetson Knight Electric Scooter boasts a top speed of up to 20 MPH. 🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Jetson Knight scooter garners enthusiasm for its fun riding experience, easy assembly, and thoughtful design features such as swappable batteries, three-speed modes, and a foldable frame for convenient storage. Users appreciate its performance on flat terrain and its sturdy build. However, the scooter seems to struggle with inclines and has caused some range anxiety for heavier users or those in hilly areas. The inconsistency regarding the provision of a second battery in some cases has also been a downside for a few.

Pros

  • 🛴 Easy to assemble and fold for storage or transport
  • 💡 Built-in headlight and taillight enhance visibility for safer night rides
  • 🔋 Swappable battery system allows for extended use
  • 🚀 Three-speed modes cater to different skill levels
  • 🏗️ Sturdy construction with a high-quality feel compared to other models

Cons

  • 🔋 Some issues with the promised second battery not being included
  • 🏔️ Performance on inclines can be inadequate, especially for users near the weight limit
  • ⏳ Long charging time for the battery
  • 🌙 Display lacks night lighting for improved visibility

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a fun and well-designed electric scooter for short, flat commutes or leisurely rides, the Jetson Knight could be a great choice. Its design, ease of use, and features like swappable batteries make it a strong contender in its price range, especially for urban commuters and students. However, if you live in a hilly area or are close to the weight limit, you might want to consider other options with better incline performance and a more reliable battery provision policy.

  • Wicked Fun Adult Scooter, Swappable Batteries A Plus, Not So Great Hills
The media could not be loaded. I have been enjoying my Jetson Knight scooter. It’s a hoot (when the weather is mild) to ride it for short trips around town to see friends or the post office or convenience store or just fun. And it is fun. The scooter came in a pretty big box. The only assembly required was to screw on the two handles and use the included Allen wrench to tighten the brake/bell assembly. It comes with minimal directions and a charger in addition to the aforementioned handles and Allen wrench. The scooter is supposed to come with 2 batteries, but mine was missing one of them, but a phone call, a couple of emails and chat sessions and I had the missing battery on the way from Jetson. Their service was quite good and it turns out that second battery can be very useful. One of the things I like about the Knight is how it folds for easy storage, carries nicely and easily fits in the back of my car. A lot of aspects of the design are very nicely thought out. There is a headlight and taillight built in. In a after dark test run on my street I was surprised to see how well the headlight worked! The little kickstand is pretty cute and also works well. I like the display which shows speed, mode (beginner, intermediate, and expert) and charge level of the battery. It’s easy to read and provides all the essential info I need. There is a latch and the display hinges up out of the way to reveal the interchangeable battery inside the post. There is a plastic cap locking the battery in place and a quick twist releases it and the battery to lift out. There are channels on either side to make sure when inserted the battery contacts align properly. The battery can charge when installed OR happily when it’s out. Again excellent and well thought out design. This adult scooter is rated at up to 220lbs (on the Jetson site) and I’m a tall and (let’s just say) “big boned” gal who is kinda close to the rated load. To be clear, I don’t expect the performance for me to be optimal. I don’t expect 15 miles of range. I did think that 7 miles would be reasonable and if I’m riding on VERY flat routes I can come pretty close to that. When I am riding the scooter even VERY mild hills of a few degrees of incline can significantly affect performance; both in terms of speed and range. Now I get that I’m kind of an extreme case here. A hill with only about 8 degrees (estimated) of incline had me walking the scooter up the hill to cost down the other. I tried using power and supplementing by using foot power (like with the scooters of my youth), but the scooter still overloaded giving a plaintive beep and quickly draining battery. That trip got about 2.5 miles before the battery was drained. Good think I had the spare in my backpack. One thing missing from the instructions is how to change the speedometer from kph to mph. Here are the steps from the Jetson FAQ: 1. Press the Power Button and Function Buttons at the same time to enter Settings Menu. The screen will display P0. 2. Press the power button to enter the P0 setting. 3. Press the function key once to switch from 0 (kmh) to 1 (mph). 4. Press the power button to exit the P setting. 5. Repeat step 1 to exit the menu. Where I live I have some flat routes to take my Jetson Knight. It’s great for those. But here in New England I’m likely to come to a hill before long. Again, I’m near the limits for this scooter and probably a worst case example. If you are in a flat land area this is a great adult scooter. If you are a slender person maybe even with gentle hills. Regardless, I’m having pure fun on this scooter – fun like one might think adults aren’t supposed to have... That’s why I’m giving the Jetson Knight 5 stars. I’m very pleased. ... show more

  • Doesn't come with 2nd battery
Be defeated and have great range anxiety! Fight with half a sword! They claimed it came with a second battery it doesn't. It was not a big fan of a gravel road and I got 2 miles of range out of it being at the top end of the capacity. Called jetson and asked about the battery said they haven't done that in years. Promotional thing as I understood it. Told me to send it back as they would not give me any support. Extra battery is as much as a second scooter. ... show more

  • It would be better if it had solid tires.
I think it has great power. Battery also last longer then last two scooter’s. I pull a cart with ice chest on it for fishing. I am very happy with it except for not having solid tires.

  • Loving it so far!
These things can be super expensive so I guess you can consider this a "budget priced" electric scooter. With that in mind I think this scooter is a real winner! I don't feel the need to regurgitate all the specs for the scooter than you can read on Amazon just fine by yourself. What I want to get across was just how excited my 16 year old son was with this scooter. This was a gift to him and when he set eyes on it he simply freaked out. I just crossed my fingers that it would live up to his expectations. Judging from his report after coming home from cruising around the neighborhood, it absolutely lived up to his expectations. So everything I say from here on is from him. The build quality was fantastic. So much nicer than the ones his friends were riding. Those scooters had so much more plastic parts than this one did. This one just felt more substantial. He felt the speed was more than enough for him. He never maxed it out as he was still learning and getting used to a electric scooter but it was more than fast enough to have a great time. The back breaks worked really well and didn't jerk to a stop. The ride was super smooth. So this was a big win for him, and for me as a dad. This isn't the fastest or longest lasting battery scooter on the market but this isn't priced like one either. Just a really good price for a really good scooter. ... show more

  • This is not a daily commuter scooter .
I originally got the jetson rhythm , when that came bad out of factory they send me this ( months after emailing back and fort ) I get this scooter that to be honest is way better than the original ( i can see why they do not sell it anymore) once this said , you only get 1 battery and getting the 2nd battery is almost impossible or flat out crazy expensive , so all the nice stats that you read are misleading since they are made under the assumption you have a 2nd battery of access to one ( no easy or cheap, actually i could not find one with guarantee at least) , the tires will get flat pretty quick , and after that is near imposible to change it , why ? first the scooter is not designed to be easy to change tires ( they send me a new tire but forgot to mention that the bolts are cheap so they corrode and get stuck in place so you end up having to pay extra to fix it ) the autonomy is actually less than 3 miles in a normal speed and takes forever to charge , so unless you live less than 3 miles from work , or you can charge it 7 hours before using it again you probably wont be able to use this as an alternative to commute in you car , i am still paying for this scooter and probably between the first scooter and this I enjoyed a full 2 -3 months of having a scooter , its been sitting in my closet with a flat tire since fixing cost half of the value it self of the scooter . long story short , if you want a commuter scooter even for short distances , invest in something better build and that considers things like changing flats as part of the design ( almost cero videos or materials from the company about how to work this things like they build them and expect you to thrown them away if they break) they do respond to your emails and take sweet time but they do , but they lack of materials to actually help you to work on your scooter , a very expensive toy collecting dust ... show more
