We bought two, to put one on each end of the very wide deck; hanging them from the pergola. They really move the air and keep insects away. When I put in my new grill gazebo I did not realize that its aluminum roof would gather heat during the day, making the inside pretty warm. I started researching outdoor fans and the iLiving was the best I found, either at the big box improvement stores, or online. This fan is terrific. I got the 14" and all three speeds are useful. The strongest is such a strong blast I normally use the middle setting. It comes with a long pull chain that is easily snipped to the size that works best for you. Let me answer some questions you may have: How long is the power cord? Six feet so you may need an extension like I did. For the best match, be sure you get a three plug round black cable in typical 14 gauge. I really like the inexpensive one from Woods also available on Amazon. It's a perfect match. Be sure you get an extension cord for outdoor use. What hardware is included? / How to attach the fan? There are two holes on the steel bracket that comes attached to the back of the fan. It's easy to install. I bought some nuts and bolts on my own that best fit the metal frame I was attaching it to. One hole is larger than the other so two different sizes are needed. Two healthy sized wood screws are included but I needed a nut and bolt for my use attaching to metal. Does it swivel? Yes, you decide if you prefer side to side or front to back. Because I needed to orient the included bracket horizontally, it swivels front to back for my use, or perpendicular to the bracket. (See my picture with fan attached to gazebo side.) if you need it to swivel in all directions, depending on your available space for hardware, you will need to pick up an additional bracket such as an L bracket. Is it noisy? Just the sound of the wind it makes! Really well built, solid and no rattles. Can it work on a timer? Absolutely! That's how I use mine, plugged into a pool/spa type of timer that lets you choice hours you wish it to be running. It also works fine with newer smart timers that work of phone APPs, etc. ... show more

Have owned this 20 inch outdoor fan for 1 month. It works well. As fans go it is nice and quiet but still moves a good amount of air. Seems well built for a modern online product. (Not nearly as sturdy as the 20 year old fan this is replacing but nothing like that exists anymore.) My one complaint so far is that the legs fill with water and that turns quickly to rusty water that will stain surfaces. Going to try drilling a small hole in the bottom of each leg so the water will drain. ... show more

This fan is amazing. It really moves the air. It has 3 speed selections. It is loud like a large shop fan but I like that. Very easy to assemble. Aslo, although it can be hung buy a single person it would be easier if you hand a second pair of hands if you are hanging it overhead.

This fan is awesome. Pushes great air. I have one on a 14x30ish patio. I can leave it on speed one. Downside- one 2-3 it’s loud. More of a shop/garage use. Zero issues on one. Does not oscillate. No remote. It’s a bare bones fan. But for a patio that’s what i wanted. Less to break. Keep that in mind if you wanted those features. Highly recommend if you want a single fan that pushes good air for a decent price. I would buy again ... show more

This is a game changer for keeping mosquitoes away. Powerful even on the lowest speed. Mosquito free, cool breeze what more could you ask for. I rigged up a hanging mount and it works like a charm. Ordered another outdoor fan with 6 speeds that was more than twice the price and it was a true dud, i could run faster and create a stronger breeze than that fan put out, it went right back. ... show more
