  • Sturdy and Reliable Brass Shut Off Valve
I recently purchased the Hydro Master heavy-duty 3/4” brass shut off valve with a large handle, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The build quality is exceptional, and the brass construction adds a level of durability that instills confidence. The large handle makes it easy to grip and turn, even with wet or gloved hands, providing a hassle-free water flow control experience. I particularly appreciate the smooth operation of the valve, which speaks to its overall craftsmanship. Installing the valve was a breeze, thanks to its well-designed threading and secure connections. It has proven to be leak-free, and the heavy-duty construction ensures it can withstand the rigors of outdoor use. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a DIY enthusiast, this Hydro Master shut off valve is a reliable addition to your toolkit. Its robust design and functionality make it a standout choice for anyone in need of a high-quality brass shut off valve. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Feels Substantial | Beefy
While I won't be able to definitively speak to the durability of this shutoff valve, for some time to come, I am enthusiastically hopeful that it will far surpass the plastic, aluminum, and other such shutoffs I have purchased over the years. It feels substantial and beefy. I appreciate the "full flow" of the shutoff, as well as the "not stubby" lever for flow control or on/off basic function. The lever movement is smooth, positive, and agreeable. Pleased with this purchase — for now. 😉 ... show more

  • Works great, solid, but avoid pinch!
The only reason for not giving a 5 is the lever design lends to pinching the heck out of your finger, which I think could be redesigned and avoided, but you learn quick to stay clear of the pinch zone. Otherwise very solid and works well.

  • Quality worth paying a bit kore
I had had one I use many times a day on a farm that finally wore out after about 5 years. No longer available so I tried a less expensive one that came in a pack of 2. Together they lasted less than 2 years. This one appears of similar quality to my old one. The body is a bit longer so the lever doesn’t get caught on the hose clamp on the end of the hose. The full bore size cuts time off watering as the flow is less restricted and the lever arm isn’t loose like a cooked chicken leg. A bit stiffer but that has stopped the accidental water in the barn aisle. Much better quality. Will buy again. ... show more

  • Solid-Important feature is the inside hole is 1/2"
I've bought a lot of shut-off valves for a garden hose, I have a small orchard. I used to buy the older versions of the black rubber top type, quality versions of that type are no longer made well these days. i have returned several because they just didn't cut it. These are well built, solid, less moving parts, shuts off completely, large shut off valve handle, but the most important aspect for me, is the inside hole diameter. The hole is a little larger than 1/2", I think it is .51. I like a larger garden hose (3/4" instead of the normal 5/8") and the water flows much better. These are a smidge more expensive, but I feel well worth it. There are no dinky little screws on this item. It does come with an extra gasket, but I always use a real rubber gasket so I just simply changed it out and keep the others as spares. At this point, I own three and they have been used for the spring/summer months daily with no problems. I don't think you will complain. ... show more

  • Probably not for rheumatic or arthritic hands, but perfect for our little farm
I gave this five stars because it looks really sturdy and it fits our purpose. It was a bit stiff at first, like really stiff. I wondered if I was going to get a chunk missing out of my finger with the force needed to move it initially. However, once I got it moving, it was great. My 7 year old can move it. We have it attached to the end of the hose we use to water our little goat herd. It does require two hands to operate. And it still is a bit stiff to move, so those with hand mobility issues may want to use WD-40 or look for a different product. But for us, this is perfect. It allows us to turn on the faucet, about 100 feet away from the end of the hose without it just running. Over it, I have a spray nozzle with no moving parts, perfect for children and farm animals. ... show more

  • Work well, if they don't turn on when pulled across the yard...
I use them on the end of the hose to be the shutoff between a dramm hose end and the spigot. Work great, but when pulled along the grass, they can easily turn on and start spray water everywhere. All other valves that I have used don't hold up as well, but also don't suffer from opening up when drug. I am still looking for something better, but have not found anything yet. ... show more
