We've installed three fans in three of our bedrooms a couple of months ago and since then they have worked great! At first, we were concerned the lighting was not enough when compared to the old fans that we had but after a while we found it to be enough as we adapted. This ceiling fan is 1400 lumens, 18 watts. The beam angle is 150 degrees, 2700k color temperature. The fan has great airflow and I often find myself putting it at the lowest setting since the house stays around 73 degrees and would be too cold otherwise. We also have two wall switches from the previous fan and opted to make use of both of them again. What we did was completely bypass the light wire on the receiver effectively making the light button on the remote non-functional. I don't usually write long in depth reviews on things I buy, but I'm going to for this fan to hopefully help others. I spent hours reading over the specs of this and other fans. What sold me on this fan was its design, reasonable cost and efficiency and also the ability to control it with a remote. I wanted a smart feature initially, but decided the extra $100+ I would need to spend on another fan wasn't worth it. I read the Amazon reviews for this fan and the most common complaints seem to be its difficult installation, lack of power and dim light. I needed 4 fans, so I bought 1 to check it out and install before purchasing the other 3. I learned alot and hopefully this review will help others. If you have no knowledge about electricity and haven't ever installed a fixture you will have a more difficult time and might consider hiring an electrician. If you have some experience with fixtures, I'd budget about 1.5hrs. The first 1 took me this long, but the rest took about 45 min each. This included the replacement of the old fixture box for a new fan box. Here area my tips: 1) Purchase and install a fan rated electrical box if you aren't replacing an old fan. I did this cause I was replacing a light fixture with this fan. 2) Assemble everything except the mounting flange and light cap before climbing a ladder. 3) Screw in the mounting flange ground wire to the fan box before placing the downrod rod onto the flange. 4) Screw in th downrod ground into the ground of the mounting flange after sliding the remote receiver in place. The complaints that there isn't enough room for the receiver simply isn't true. I'll include a picture of how and where it goes, but other reviews have posted similar pictures. The complaints of the fan being underpowered is probably a result of the fan spinning in the wrong direction. The fan blades can be used as either black or brown by flipping them over. Depending on which color you prefer to use, YOU WILL NEED TO ADJUST THE ROTATION OF THE BLADES since the blades are installed at an angle to deflect air. If using brown, a counter clockwise rotation to push air down is appropriate. If choosing black, a clockwise rotation moves the air down. The blade direction is changed with a black switch located on the housing. This feature is helpful too as it allows you to spin the blades in the opposite direction to draw heat down during the winter. The led light can be dimmed by holding down the button with the light icon on the remote. I can see how people might think the light is too dim, if it came out of the box set on low and weren't aware of its dimability. In the end, I am very pleased with my purchase. I love the style, and it didn't break the bank when needing 4 at $120 each. The instructions aren't the best, but if your have some fixture installation experience, this isn't hard at all. We wanted to modernize the fan in our guest bedrooms without breaking the banks. This fan has all the features we wanted with a slick design and remote control for $120. We bought two. The first one took me few hours to install. The instructions are terrible. Not the easiest to follow. I also didn’t find YouTube video made the company which would have helped. The 2nd one got easier after getting through the first one. The most difficult part is placement of the remote control receiver box. I ended up cramming in in the ceiling but I saw a better way of installing in under the reviews just now (too bad I already installed mine). ... show more

Bought this nickel finish and one like it in black for my teen children's bedrooms. They love the remote control function and that it has a wall mount box for the remote by their bedside. It's definitely a unique bulb. I hope it lasts forever since the bulb is a significant part of this ceiling fan's feature. Not the brightest, even with the dimming feature, but I always decorate with additional side lamps & ambient lighting anyway. My daughter's room used the brushed nickel finish, which goes with her cream, pink & rose gold decor. My son wanted the black finish with black blades as his room is decorated as a "gamer's" room with color changing LED lighting and greys. Happy with the purchase. I love the design that was the reason I bought it in the first place. The newly designed remote transmitter and receiver are look and function better, no more bulky receiver issue since they reduced the size. The only problem I had was the air flow. I felt no airflow at all when using a summer mode. The fan cannot move enough air to make it worth the money. However, when switching to a winter mode the fan started to move some air but that’s something I considered a flaw in design. Fan should be able to circulate the air around it on both direction. Another minor issue was a motor noise. It wasn’t that loud but noticeable and it definitely was a noise from motor not a buzzing sound since I ran a direct wire that always hot.
