I have been trying to find a product to help with gut health and bloating. I started taking probiotics and noticed a slight improvement. I proceeded to try removing gluten from my diet and noticed even more improvement as far as reduction of stomach pain. I decided to try bitter melon and holy smokes, I am so happy with it. My bloating is pretty much all gone. I have more energy and can consume small amounts of gluten again. I take one pill once or twice daily after meals. Been using them for about 2 months now. I recommend you try this if you have hit a wall when it comes to losing weight. I think it speeds up metabolism...at least it has with me. I am so thankful for these pills. good herb decreased 70 points on the meter after i took one pill with food or after meal, but make sure to do periodically kidney test to check its effect on kidney because you don't want to fix your diabetes numbers and screw your kidney if it's hard on kidney.

I think these have helped out my insulin resistance. I'm prediabetic so have to be careful! I am willing to try something more natural rather than Rx drugs if I can avoid it.

    • Moderate effect on blood sugar, lowered LDL as well
I've used these for two months now and had my labs tested yesterday. Off the bat, I noticed that bitter melon is not as effective for me as gymnema sylvestre, but I like to rotate blood sugar supplements every six months so gave this a try. My fasting blood sugar is up a few points to 87, 1 to 6 points, depending on which lab I look at, which is fine. It's only up 1 point from my typical value of 86 when on a supplement. The gymnema packs more of a punch and moved it to 81 as of January. What the bonus was for me, though, is that my LDL fell by 25 points while my HDL only fell by 2 points! I have been testing my cholesterol at home weekly and noticed in the past month that the values were lower. I have read that bitter melon can lower cholesterol and it seems to do so for me. Overall, this is a good moderate tool for managing blood sugar and may benefit your cholesterol panel as well. ... show more

    • easy to swallow solid pills not capsules
I got this for controlling and balancing my blood sugar. That is still in progress. My first impression is that the pills are not in typical powder in capsule form. I usually fill in my own vegetable capsule with powder. This solid pill form usually means more nutrient density, which is good. Cost of course is a bit high compared to buying powder and self filling (that would cost around $3 - $4 for the same quantity of pills.
