I like to brew up a batch of Chaga tea every now and then, and I need a pot large enough to brew it to my liking. With this stainless steel stock pot, I can do just that! The great part about stainless steel cookware is that you don't have to worry about special coatings coming off into your food like other cook pots eventually will. I've had painted surface style cook pots start to chip on me after so many uses. Sometimes I can find the chips, other times I must have eaten them. Granted, the chips happened many, many years down the road, but it still happened. That's why I love to cook with stainless steel. Just oil the surface of it, and you're good to go! Of course, with me boiling the Chaga chunks in water, there's no immediate risk of burning anything as long as I keep the water level good. With this cook pot, I've managed to brew up several batches of Chaga tea, and everything went well! This cook pot holds the heat well, and the lid fits like a glove. I’ve only used this stock pot twice, but couldn’t be happier with its shiny, 100% 18/10 stainless steel construction, the way it works beautifully with an induction cooktop, and the bargain price. The lid fits perfectly, and it cleans up easily, too.

This pot may have the looks of stainless steel, but assuredly it is very low end quality stainless. The pot I got quickly stained inside which I mistook as initially not permanent. Unfortunately the blemish left by mere chicken broth, remained despite various cleansing agents. The inside bottom finish sustained a huge dark blemish. If you assume some decent elbow grease will restore original luster... then beware! This manufacturer/designer and ultimately the product fabricator mislabeled and misrepresented. I bought this to boil water for pasta on my induction burner. Getting 3qts of cold water to a rolling boil took 10.25 minutes on the induction burner and only 9.5 on my ceramic electric!!. Don't buy this for an induction burner, should boil 3qts of water in 3 minutes or less. says its induction ready & it is magnetic but its not nearly as good as my old cast iron. ... show more
