This gate is exactly what we needed. The dog, if left alone (or someone is asleep) will eat the cat's food - not good for her and not good for the cats. With this gate we can let her roam most of the house without someone having to watch her. The gate is simple to install, but the first one arrived broken and it was the way it was packaged that broke it. The replacement was in pristine condition, easy to install, however the instructions said to immediately put the tightening bolts on the central piece, but to save time I knew I needed both side extensions so I connected those and then installed the tightening bolts. The gate is very high quality. It stays securely in place. The door is easy to open and close once the gate is properly installed. All of that while still looking good. It is hard to find a good quality gate for such a tight doorway, but this one checks all the boxes.

    • Tougher install but worth it
We use this baby gate for a large walkway, which has some intricate molding. It was a little tough to install this gate, however once up it was a game changer for keeping our 1 year old contained.

    • Great Gate!
I decided to get this after scratching up my wall with a sliding gate and I couldn't not be happier with the upgrade. The gate came is several pieces that I was able to arrange perfectly to fit the size needed for my home. The gate is easy to install once you understand that you need to keep tightening the knows using the key until the gap in the gate disappear. The only con I have for this gate is that once you take it down it is a bit difficult to set back up as you have cut the zip tie that holds the swinging gate in place. Originally I though it wouldn't be a problem but the zip tie also helps to keep the gate straight and level, without it I found myself searching the garage for a level to ensure the gate went back on right. Overall if your thinking about getting this gate do it! We loved it so much we bought another one for the garage door. Having the gate that opens and clicks to stay open is a game changer. Its easy to get in and out and you can leave it open after baby goes to bed. ... show more

Not only is this gate extra wide, but it is extra tall! We have a mini poodle and he can jump the shorter more traditional baby gates. When I saw this I thought I would give it a try. We use this to block off our kitchen entrance from the formal dining. He likes to "counter surf” especially when we are not home so keeping him out of the kitchen was a struggle. This gate did the trick. He is not able to jump it and it is super sturdy. Been using it for over 2 months and it hasn’t failed us yet. Great gate! ... show more

I ordered the extra wide baby gate. This is a nice extra wide baby gate that fits your widest openings. We have placed this in the opening between our entrance hallway and our great room/kitchen area. It is nice and sturdy even though it is very wide. The gate holds well. The gate opens well and the safety mechanism to open the gate is a nice touch. It is a little easier to open but still can't be open by your little ones. It is easy to set up, much easier with a second person but doable with one person. I would advise on getting the wall protectors for baby gates since overtime the mounts on the wall will eat into your paint. Overall a great baby gate for your extra wide openings. ... show more
