  • Easy to use
As you can see we don’t have a large backyard so it was important when purchasing we found a good quality batting cage as well as one that could be put up and taken down quickly. First few times took us 30 mins or so and now we can completely break it down and set it up in 15-20 mins so if we know bad weather is coming we can break it down. This is definitely not necessary but we want it to last a while . The machine pitches at many speeds and is very easy to use. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has baseball obsessed kids and are tired of losing balls over the fence ... show more

  • DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!
We purchased this item for my grandson's Christmas and started to install it this May. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! The arches are weak and don't stand straight as they bend inward. The strings that supposedly hold up the netting is even weaker as the netting droops. Four metal anchors with rope are supplied to hold the arches on the outside but the middle bows in. Additionally, you have to spread the anchors/rope at least 6 to 8 feet on each side to try to straighten the arches out. Not good when you need to mow the lawn. Additionally the center of the arches bow inward. Had my son in law not thrown away the boxes, I would look to return this overpriced piece of garbage which has now created an eyesore in our yard. ... show more

  • Overall a good value BUT . . .
When you consider all. The pitching machine and batting cage, at the cost it is at, is a good value but there are some takeaways to consider. The key takeaway is that the cage is about 22 long and while it looks great in the picture if a ball comes out of the machine at 40 miles an hour or 58 feet a sec it will get from the machine to the batter in less than 1/2 sec. Plus you can't see the ball until it is on the way (most machines work this way). So this setup needs a pretty good hitter at the other end. Really good hitter. It is basically the same reaction time someone has at 60 feet and 90 mph but in real baseball they get to see the pitcher's delivery. The takeaway is: the machine needs to be set to pitch at the slowest speeds it will, without needing an arc to get to the batter. Also the machine should be moved as far back as it can be. Preferably 30-40 feet from the batter. So realistically, out of the cage. At that range it works pretty well. The netting can be made so most of the pitching end it blocked but the machine can be outside. I see lots of cages for sale that are this 24' or less in size so this cage is in the norm BUT to really hit in a cage with a machine at some mid to upper speed the cage needs to be 40+ feet. Heater sells an extension to this setup. I would consider this as a option. Observations. The Heater machine is decent. I do not have ability to comment on it's endurance but if treated reasonably and using the recommend balls it feel like it will do and do ok over time. The light weight balls will be less stress on the machine. It's setup is easy and the controls works well. I saw some comments on the stand but I found it to be solid and adequate. The cage it is decent. It feels heavy made but not at a professional it will last forever outside level. It has a red inlay for determining the bottom and ends. I have a few tips on setting this up. Put the poles together on the ground and space them out at the anchor points. Try to keep the eyelets facing away from the net so the net does not get hung up on the eyelets. Then put the netting over the poles. We used plant clips to clip the net to the poles first. Twist ties would work too. This holds it in place. Then we raise the net by putting the poles into the anchors. That worked well. Beware because the pitching frame has a inside and a outside direction which is easy to get wrong by simply putting the net "inside-out". ... show more

  • Nice and Plenty
I think its a pretty good machine and net. I set it up inside a warehouse. I put some 1 inch pvc around the stakes and put them inside a bucket w concrete. This way the stake is not in direct contact with the concrete and I can just pull the stakes out of the buckets. Makes it more portable. It pitches about every 10 seconds and so far no problems. Sorry no curve balls. Nothing fancy but does the job. If you want to make it more sturdy just use more ropes to support it from above. It comes with eyes where you can tie rope to in order to anchor it to a support. ... show more

  • Fun for everyone
Bought this months ago for the kids. Easy set up and easy to use. Bought it so the kids could practice in the yard and didn't have to go to batting cages. Well worth the money got a lot of use out of it already. Easy to disassemble to put away for the winter.

  • Length
A ‘22 long netting is completely worthless. Not even on the slowest speed using a regular weighted baseball will a coach pitch or minor league player have enough reaction time to hit the pitch. Therefore, you need to buy a second net to lengthen the distance from the machine.

  • Wish we had upgraded to a bigger better machine.
Difficult to set up, incorrect directions in the box. I'd recommend at least 3-4 people to help set up. Once assembled the pitching machine sticks about every 5th ball and two come out back to back rapidly. We are using the recommended balls with it. Have learned to live with it, however wish I spent the money for a better machine. ... show more
