This pan is great. I got it specifically for pasta, and anything that needs to be drained. The lid locks into place. Nothing can fall out of the pan when draining. There are holes that strain, so I found I didn’t need an extra strainer. I suppose if you wanted something more strained you could use one, but so far I haven’t needed one. Great pot, heats evenly and is easy to clean. The lock in place lid with strainer is a game changer. I was able to get rid of my large clunky colander since this does a perfect job and helps prevent the extra heat of the steam from reaching my face when draining the pot.
