  • Awesome and easy!!
Color: Glace Cherry
This was easy to do myself and gave me the effect I wanted. I didn’t want to dye my hair and get rid of all the color effects I had previously. Just wanted to change the tint for some fun and try out the red to see if I like it. Followed the directions and this was the result I got. Posted a before and after…the before was taken 2 days before. I didn’t have some balayage from a few months ago, but it took the color really well! Will update after 10 washes. Highly recommend for something fun, easy, and quick to do yourself at home! ... show more

  • don't use if you have highlights in your hair
I had blonde highlights until I got my hair colored a beautiful, rich mid-tone brown about 4 months ago. I've colored it brown now twice professionally at a salon, and love it for the first few weeks, but found it fades within a month or two since the professional brown color was applied over previously bleached hair. So instead of spending another several hundred dollars at a salon I thought I'd give a home semi-permanent glaze a go.. Do not. This product is really best for natural brunettes or those who have never bleached or colored their hair in a way that opened the hair shaft. I had the color on my 10 mins as prescribed and it turned by ends BLACK. Blue-black to be specific. Then after 1 wash, they're a dark teal (as in this photo). It looks like manic panic and is uneven and patchy. Ease of Use: This product is really no easier than a regular home box dye. It gets absolutely everywhere, doesn't come with gloves to protect you from staining, which by god it stains everything immediately. My nails were dark blue/black for days and it immediately stained the marble in my bathroom. Packaging: The bottle is poorly designed and doesn't let you get the product out without crushing it, which rendered it impossible to use for future uses. The instructions were useless and said nowhere on the packaging itself not to use on highlights or that the bottle was 2-3 uses worth of product. No one is going online to read what a bottle should tell us. They cheaped out on packaging by not giving an external box with surface area for more text to explain how to best use the product and chose a poor bottle shape and hardness instead for a cuter aesthetic experience. Update: I had to spend 5 hours in a hair salon professionally removing this dye from my hair. It took the colorist 2 rounds of 1 hour applications of color extractor sulfur to pull the blue dye out. She stressed that this is not a semi-permanent dye if it is this difficult to remove. The labelling of this as a "tinted moisturizer for your hair" is super misleading and not true to the staying power of the dye on highlighted hair. This attaches permanently to highlighted hair. It cost me $400 to remove and color over. Won't use again. ... show more

  • Doesn’t last, but overall decent
Color: Glace Cherry
It did the job considering the price point. For reference, I went to the salon and had a cowboy copper tone put on top of my previously lightened/blonde hair (stylist did fill my hair with a darker tone first) and after a few weeks it had faded mostly to a very light red and some pieces of my hair were mostly back to blonde. The pic of the side with me in green is my faded hair before using this. The after pic in the sun (ignore how yellow my face is lol, that foundation was supposed to be “cool toned”). The final pic is what i’m left with after 3 washes. So with this, I put it on dry hair, did half my head at a time and left on for probably about 30 minutes before rinsing out each side. Overall, I would use this again but a few things to consider: Cons: These other reviews are right, the packaging is awful when trying to get it out. I ended up putting it in a mixing bowl for easier access. The cherry glacé was a nice color, but I rinsed my full head that same night thinking it looked fine and the next morning it was obvious that it left some of my hair really, really pink/almost purple looking. Just rinsing with water wasn’t enough I guess. I ended up fully washing it that morning to remove some more and it finally was more like the comparison photo they included. So, cherry definitely has a pink undertone, keep that in mind. Also, now that’s it’s faded out it’s given my hair a grayish brown tone on some pieces, cherry glacé probably was too dark of an undertone for my previous hair. This is also only lasted 3 washes and I only wash my hair about once a week. I use a pH balanced/sulfate free shampoo and rinse in cool water. Pros: Smells really good, left my hair super soft. Didn’t need to condition after using and I have semi curly/wavy hair so it’s prone to frizzing without proper conditioning. This left my hair smooth. The color itself did look really nice. It goes on smoothly and was easy to saturate each strand/didn’t dry out while I was putting it on. It also definitely applied to my new growth/roots and made them blend with the rest of my hair which is hard to come by with similar products. Price is good. I used gloves and definitely got this on parts of my face and arms but it didn’t stain my skin or my shower (but did stain my sink so make sure to cover that). Would definitely use this again but I think I’ll try the copper tone this time around to see if that gives me more of the undertone I want when fading. ... show more
