Love this! 3 speed, 2 is more air than speed 3 on other box fans. Fully assembled. Lightweight. Has two stabilizer legs on the bottom that you need to turn to provide good stability for high air flow (arrows show direction). Loud (for people who use it for white noise & cooling during sleep). Excellent value for money. I will absolutely purchase another one. I use this fan for sleep and it's perfect!! I just got it, so it's too new to say how well it does over time. Pros: It has a decent airflow with 3 settings for speed. There are legs that rotate out so they can be flush for easier storage. Because of the legs, it has better balance than expected on all floor types. It has a decent length power cord. It's a good value. Very easy to setup and use. The white is a crisp white. Looks very nice. It's not incredibly quiet, but I was wanting one that I could hear when it was running, so listing at a pro for me. If you're looking for a whisper quiet one, this isn't for you. Through the years I’ve owned several box fans. This fan seems a bit loud. Not the motor but the fan blades. Additionally, while it is perfectly useful and seems to work well, the amount of air it moves seems less than others I have owned. But I am still happy with it.     • Excellent alternative to cheap box fans
First, I ordered a white box fan and received a black one. No idea how or why that happened, but for my purposes it doesn't matter, and I actually prefer the black version for the intended location. I use box fans in my home to improve air flow, air filtering (with a 20x20x1 filter attached) and white noise. I keep a couple running at all times. I have purchased numerous $20-$25 box fans from a large local retailer (I believe Lasko is the prominent brand). This is so much better. I purchased one of these a while ago and liked it so much that I went with this fan again. The legs / stands are robust and the airflow is substantially better with these. Which, that also means they are noisier than the standard, cheap-o $20 box fans. If you want a completely silent fan, then you probably should look for something else if you're looking to move air. If you want a much-better version of a box fan you can pick up locally, this could be a great option. If you want something that moves even more air, get something like this AIr King (B0007Q3RMA) -- though that is even louder, but much more powerful than this. This does run $10-$20 more than box fans I can get locally if buying new, but the extra price so far has been justified. They look better, they function better and they offer better airflow. ... show more

I am really pleased with this fan. It supercedes the quality of any of the Lasko fans I ever purchased. And, yes, it does make some noise; but, for me, that is a good thing. It is a nice steady even toned calming noise, like a sound track for sleeping with white noise sounds. And, my goodness, it puts out a very nice strong breeze. For 30 bucks , this is a GREAT price. I’m in love with the size, power, cool air it creates, and the functionality. This is the first time of me ever purchasing a Genesis Designs fan.. and I knew right when I looked at it, it was for me. My room is fairly small.. it’s like a little walk in closet with 2 people living in it. The powerful motor on this fan will have me rubbing my feet together every single night and sleeping like a baby! (One thing people said is that it’s “loud” I personally don’t think it’s loud.. but yet again I love white noise.. i barely remember that it’s there. But I suggest this a lot!!) I’m in love with this fan, honestly. I have it on setting 2 and it’s still a very nice breeze and the cooler it is outside, the cooler it’d also feel. But it generates such a strong breeze that it’ll feel like you’re riding in a car with the top down LMAOO. I hope you guys consider this helpful and you get one right now!     • There's no carry handle...
Very nice fan, integrated feet and fairly powerful but no carry handle despite what the description states. That's a plus for me, though. I primarily use box fans in my windows and seeing the speed control on the front face made me think these would be perfect for that. I was right, these are made for window use! The integrated feet turn sideways and fit perfectly in the window sill and no handle or top mounted speed control means the window fits completely against the fan. I should also mention that the lowest speed on this is the same as the highest on my usual cheap box fans. This is the perfect fan to flush out a hot house on a nice day. ... show more

    • Received a returned item. Works but loud
The media could not be loaded. 3 stars because I purchased a new item and received a used one, clearly opened, and with someone’s hair stuck in it. Seems to work fine so it’s not a deal breaker. It’s very noisy even on low. That’s actually what I was hoping for as I wanted the white noise for sleep. Airflow is ok. I don’t feel much difference between high and low, but there’s a significant sound difference between the two. ... show more
