We purchased this to place a lock on an interior closet door. Works perfectly. Takes less than a second to scan your thumb print and open the door, plus it blends in well so it doesn't appear to be much different than other door knobs in the house. Installation was a breeze as was getting the app up and running to configure it. We've now purchased 3. We did have 1 break after 6 months of use (battery case cracked and popped open).     • Good Lock But Poor Bluetooth Range

There is a lot to like about this product, but there are a few issues. The lock is easy to install, has great battery life, and the fingerprint recognition works well. The big negative of this doorknob is that bluetooth range is extremely limited. For it to work quickly and consistently from the app you need to be right next to the doorknob. There is a workaround for this though. If you buy a gateway and place it right next to the doorknob then you can interact via the internet which solves this problem. Just remember that the gateway needs to be right next to the door knob! Even 1 or 2 feet away will cause the app to be slow to open the lock or fail to function at all. Another added benefit of using a gateway is that the lock will function with Alexa and Google Home (with a passcode that you need to setup) and you will be able to control the lock when you are away from home. One other issue I had with this lock was that the GeekSmart app will allow you to share the lock with another user ... BUT only if you use it without a gateway. Again, there is a workaround for this. Instead of using the Geeksmart app you can use the Tuya app and create a home in Tuya that you can share with other users. Overall I am satisfied with this product but it sure took a lot of tinkering to get it to work from the app. ... show more

My 10 year old has already figured out how to open the door without using a fingerprint, so that defeats the doorknob’s original purpose of keeping kids from snooping in our bedroom. Sometimes the doorknob takes several attempts to unlock with fingerprint, especially after washing dishes when my fingers are pruney or when my husband has cuts on his fingertips from work. I wish you didn’t have to be so close to the door for the Bluetooth unlock to work in the app. I also wish the app offered timers to automatically lock and unlock the door at specific times of day. ... show more

    • Works Great But Beware the QR Code

This fingerprint doorknob lock works great. I would have given it 5 stars except for the QR code printed on the instructions. The QR code says it is registering your lock for $0.00, and it asks for your credit card number. It declined the card number and asked for a different card. The banks of both credit cards called me about a suspicious $39.99 purchases by some company other than GeekSmart. I declined the fraudulent charges. Which caused both of my cards to be shut down. Recommendation: Do not use any QR code printed on the instructions. Only use your phone's Google Play or iPhone equivalent to upload the GeekSmart app, which will not ask for your credit card. The fraudulent charges and getting replacement cards was very very frustrating. ... show more

This item is a bargain. It works seamlessly, is great quality, and the customer service is A+. If you’re wanting automated entry, don’t forget to grab a Tuya gateway! It has a decent weight to it, and looks very sleek. I purchased rechargeable batteries so we will see how that goes as there is a charging port attached to the front. I’ve had this for about 6 months. I love it! It’s so easy to add additional finger prints and works great! The only thing I don’t love is that it makes a loud “beep” when it unlocks. I have roommates and it’s super obnoxious! I wish there was a way to silence it or make it not as loud.

I was looking for a lock i could track with my phone and program multiple people to use. This product arrived on time from the retailer. The lock is very nice and looks to be durable. I have this in a exterior protected area. but exposed to some salt air. The lock was very easy to install and program. The finger print reader has worked well for the last week, I have used it just about everyday. I really like how the key hole is hidden under the door knob cap.
