It came and looked exactly like the photos. Not sure as to how well the tool cuts, but it seems sturdy. The outer shell is a hard plastic, which makes it feel lighter and not as cumbersome. It also comes with a Velcro strap to attach it to your car visor, but I just keep mine in my door because I don’t like having it by my head. Unable to test the durability of the cutter, but hopefully I won’t ever need to. As for the safety alarm, it is LOUD! Which is exactly what you want. I originally thought the big circle in the middle was the button, but that’s where the sound seems to come out of. The button is actually on the bottom and has a slight indent so I don’t think it will accidentally go off. Then you just push it again to turn off. The packaging says that the alarm will not be as loud as time goes on, but that you can replace the battery and use it as needed. It also has a mini flashlight button on it which I didn’t realize before ordering. Overall I’m very satisfied with this! ... show more

    • Happy to have a tool to escape the vehicle in an emergency and hope not to have to use it!

Two tools come in this package, an Escape Tool and a Siren. The Escape Tool....... First off WHY would you put the instructions on the packaging that you have to cut in order to get the escape tool out. I like to get familiar with any tool by reading the instructions while being able to hold the tool Well I tried to save the packaging by cutting the clear hard plastic in the center that contained the escape tool. I think I cut some of the elastic that helps to hold the escape tool to its visor mount. The protected recessed blade does cut as I used it to help open up the siren package. The head of the escape tool seems to have some weight to it and I might try it on some car window one day. The pointed part of the head supposedly breaks the glass and the flat portion of the head clears the broken glass away. The Siren....... There looks like the big button on the front of the siren should do something but it must be a dummy button since it does nothing. After getting familiar with the siren's two buttons, one for the light, one for the siren, I got to try it out. The siren does make an annoying noise but it is quieter than my smoke detector when I burn up some food. And the light might illuminate a car's door handle at night if you are 2 inches away. Not a bright light at all. I wonder if the 23A12V battery is low in juice. Instructions could have been included inside. The siren is an extra perk when you purchase the escape tool. ... show more

Thankfully, I haven't been able to fully test this item for my review. To do so would mean I had experienced a life threatening experience in my car. The Blingsting is actually three separate personal safety items that could save your life. There's a super loud 125 decibel siren designed to warn others of danger and call for help if you're in a threatening situation. The device is small and can be attached to a key ring or will easily fit in a purse or pocket. It also has an LED safety light. The other item is a tool that combines a carbide tipped safety hammer that can break automotive side windows so you can escape the vehicle if you're trapped. The hammer also houses a sharp steel blade that can quickly cut seat belts. The hammer tool also has an adjustable strap to attach it to your car visor for quick access. I haven't been in a situation where I needed to use the hammer or blade to escape my car, and hope I never do. But for this incomplete review, I've rated the Blingsting three stars. I have tested the siren, though, and it is truly ear-shattering. It will certainly attract attention to anybody nearby. ... show more

This is a gift for my grandson upon buying his first car. We live near a river and there are abundant lakes around, and as a northern state, ice and snow are a fact of life. This hammer gives me some peace of mind. It fits in his driver’s door cubby, but is small enough for his glovebox. It comes with a strap for the visor, but that is not really practical. The addition of a safety alarm is nice, but at 125 decibels it is much less loud then the common 135 decibels of most alarms. Every car should have an escape hammer, and the best gift is one that you might not get for yourself, and this fits the bill. Give the gift of safety to a loved one. ... show more

I like this BLINGSTING Personal Safety Alarm. I especially like the straps on it so I can attach it either to the visor, or to the grab handle. It makes it really nice to have it within hands reach. I've started reaching for it and unstrapping it every time I drive, to help me develop muscle memory for it. I tried the seatbelt cutter on an old piece of seatbelt I had and it worked very well. I haven't tried the glass breaker but it looks like it will work well. The alarm is very loud and I now carry it on my keychain. I recommend this product. ... show more

Nothing makes me feel as safe as having my firearm. However if I need to break a window because my vehicle is upside down or under water, my gun might no be the best solution for that. If you have to free yourself or someone else from a seat belt Its good to know I got that covered too. The siren is wicked loud. It will clip to my visor or keychain. You just have to be prepared for all situations in this day and age. You just never know what could happen out there. I would recommend all women have some sort of safety device or plan on them at all times. It could save your life or maybe someone else's. This is made well and designed to be at your fingertips when you need it to be. 5 stars!! Get one, you will be glad you did. ... show more

Easily accessible but secure with the strap for the sun visor, so if you crash, it won't go flying anywhere. The hammer tip is sharper than I expected it to be! Comfortable to hold, not heavy. Nice of them to add the personal alarm/flashlight. I hooked it to the outside of my purse. You do need to push in slightly more than the average push button so as to avoid accidental use.
