I'd give this 3.5 stars overall. Of the 8 candles, 7 work. (One of the largest 6" pillar candles arrived non-functioning and swapping batteries didn't help at all - appears to be an actual manufacturing issue with the piece itself. Unfortunately Amazon support indicates replacement is an all or nothing deal, and I don't want to return the whole set only to have a similar problem so I'm just keeping the 7 that do work.) Light is yellower than expected and flicker mode is not great, as the jumps between full brightness and completely dimmed are too pronounced (not at all realistic). That said, the pattern on the pillar candles is really pretty, and when used in steady-on/non-flicker mode, these make for nice, relaxing back lighting in my living room in the evening. ... show more

I was happily surprised that the timer really does work all candles including the votives. I just received them today so I'm not sure of the overall function but as of right now they are great and so pretty. Update: the candles must be turned on with the remote/timer each day. The largest candle has a small red spot and another white one that will not come off. It appears that the candle rubbed against that color and stuck. It's isn't enough to return/replace. I am enjoying the candles and like the look they provide.
