This product worked a miracle for me. I had lightened my hair to a level 8, but it had a lot of red in it. I tried several other level 8 toners and even dyes. None of them would cover the red. I was going to have to go darker to a level 7 or 6. I really did not want to do that so I thought as a last ditch effort I would try this. This is a level eight Demi permanent Color. Color: Coffee Bean 3.0 - with GRAY COVERAGE
This stuff is incredible! I have very dark brown hair, almost black and I bought this to cover my greys. It WORKED! I used the coffee bean shade. I have blonde hair naturally and bought the ice blonde Demi-permanent color to see if I liked it. Followed the instructions and waited 30 minutes. Absolutely nothing. Not one change to my color. Very disappointing. Off the the salon for some real color.

I used "Portobello" for my previously (about a year ago) highlighted hair with brassy tones, lot of grey and several inch outgrow. Very gentle and easy to use at home. The product had a pleasant smell. I love that it does not have all the harsh chemicals typically found in hair colors. After using bleach for highlights for years, which fried my hair, I had to do something different. A salon suggested using a demi permanent color, but every time the salon stylist used their demi color, my hair looked reddish or 'warm' at the roots, which I hated. I was frustrated and found this demi permanent color on Amazon. I had never tried to dye my hair myself and was nervous to try it, but am so glad I did. I LOVE the color. I get so many compliments on the color. It is cool & ashy, but not gray looking. Because it is vegan, there is almost no smell. It's easy to apply. If you have long thick hair, you might need to use two packages to cover everything. For best results, wash your hair with no conditioner + APPLY TO COMPLETELY DRY HAIR, not towel dried hair, but totally dry hair to get the full effect of this color & the richest color. This demi permanent color also provides great gray coverage. I probably apply it once a month & because it washes out in about 4 weeks. Since it washes out, you need to apply it to all of your hair, not just your roots. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

I ordered the color teddy bear since it matched my hair color. I get very self conscious when my gray hair starts to show. I applied the color exactly as the instructions said. After reading reviews and the box I left it in an extra 5 min. The results were disappointing. (My gray hairs are more iridescent and not actually gray.) It seemed to have only slightly colored the grays. They looked like a light yellowish tone. I could still see that there were gray hairs. They were just tinkle colored grays. I waited 3 days to wash my hair in hopes, that at the very least, my grays would stay tinkle colored. (Not iridescent) After that wash it was all gone. I was back to normal iridescent clear hairs. You can see by my ear and above it that the hairs are clearly gray/iridescent. Iridescent isn't a good look. They make the grays very prominent. It's not pretty like tinsel in my hair. It's more like "Look they clearly have light catching grays". I had to get a permanent dye. I think this product would do much better for lighter colored hair. There just isn't enough color deposit for medium brown & dark hair colors. ... show more

    • Gentle and easy to use hair dye

I was recommended this brand by my hairstylist and I will be ordering this again. I ordered it in color cappuccino for my pre lightened hair. It is very easy to use as long as you follow the instructions included. The box of dye came with two bottles: developer and color. It also included instructions and a pair of gloves. You can mix the color in the bottle that’s included or I decided to mix mine in my special bowl for hair dye (non metal) and use a brush to apply. You have to apply the color on clean towel dried hair, then let it develop on your hair for up to 30 minutes, depending on desired results. In my case, I wanted to go as dark as I could since i had to even out my color and so i kept it on for 30 minutes. I started out with level 9-10 blonde and it turned out to be level 5-6 brown, which i was happy with, knowing it is a demi-permanent hair color, so eventually it will wash out. It’s been a little over a week and it has washed out to level 7 ( i call it milk tea color) and I’m really happy how it looks. My hair looks shiny, healthy and most importantly like i just dyed it that caramel/milk tea color. Something for you to keep in mind is that I wash my hair every other day or every day, and I do not use color safe shampoo/conditioner or color depositing masks/conditioner to keep the color going. My goal was to achieve the wow effect from going from blonde to brown and have it slowly wash out to the point that i can get my blonde back if I decide to! ... show more

Color: Cherry Tree 5.52
I really love the color mask conditioner in the shade Mahogany, and since this shade doesn’t have a shampoo version, I recently found Four Reasons Take Away Color dyes, and decided to go with Cherry Tree, which seemed like the closest to the Mahogany shade. The dye is fantastic and I love it.. the only issue is that I’m not sure if Four Reasons is still making their Take Away dyes. It’s not on their website, and it looks like it is very hard to find with other dealers. Which is a shame, because I love the color and I didn’t get any allergic reaction whatsoever. Looks like I’ll have to stock-pile these dyes whenever and wherever I see them. Four Reasons, pleeeeeease bring this back! *Month or so Update* I think the dyes are only available on their Finnish site, but it’s hard to tell. Either way, I really like the dye mostly for root touchups, and I think I’ll keep using the Mahogany mask in their conditioner for my highlights and as a refresh on my roots when the dye is fading. ... show more
