Totally surprised — very very good — actually excellent Packaging was impressive - the safe is very heavy duty I found it easy to program and use I recommend using a finger and a thumb and save multiple angles for each - opens every time Code and keys no problem at all — Fits full sized 1911’s and M&P The power cord is only a power cord it does not have built in batteries to charge But the 4 AAA batteries work fine not sure how long they will last but minimal power draw Installation is extremely easy and very secure I am very happy with this slider safe and will buy another ... show more

I've wanted one of these for quite a while, and in the end, I bought two. After receiving the first about a week ago, I set it up and am thrilled with how well it 'hides' at my bedside and is very secure. And much more accessible than it was in the big safe. After trying it out, my wife wanted one for her side of the bed as well. The biometric fingerprint scanner is a tad temperamental, but does work well once you have it programmed correctly. It's pretty important to be able to get to the gun when you need it, but this safe has failed me 2 times so far. Both times I needed to be prepared, the fingerprint reader did not work after trying on 2 fingers and then attempting to enter the code did not work either which forced me to choose a different, less ideal gun that is in a safe that always works. I am trying to find customer service for this, but so far, am unable to reach them as little information is available on the actual firesafe company. One other issue I had with this is after fully reprogramming it after the first failure, I was able to push on the side of it and the gun popped out. After some open/reclose, I was unable to repeat this but that was very worrisome. Ultimately the poor reliability of this will likely have me replace it with a better manufacturer unless I am able to reach their customer service for a replacement. Update: I was able to reach the support team and so far they only asked for a video showing the failures, which I sent to them immediately as the problem is easy to reproduce (it really no longer even works, but acts like it is learning codes and fingerprints). However, it has now been over a week and they are not responding. I'm really hoping they choose to stand behind their product and correct this. I'll send an update after they respond to my follow-up request I sent today to learn what they have discovered or why they are not responding. Update 2: Firegear did reach out after a second request and ended up standing behind the product and refunding for the failed device. I will continue to consider their products in the future, but will give them some time first to work out a good solution to the problem I had encountered. ... show more
