    • Awesome Safe, but wider than 24"
Full disclosure: I have had this safe about 30 hrs, but will go ahead and review it because the fire rating is the only part of this safe I have not experienced, and I'm not all about setting the house ablaze just for a thorough review. The safe arrived, well, safely. Box wasn't even scratched. If you own a tractor with a bucket loader attachment, buy clamp on pallet forks (I got a 1,500# rated set for $99 here on Amazon) and it makes things SO EASY... Until you get into your house of course. One of the answers to a question above is misleading: the safe is 24" wide, but only for about 99.5% of the surface of the safe. Yes, you can remove the door, which, when the handles are on the safe reduces the profile, but the hinge sockets the door rests in protrude 1" from the front of the safe. Therefore, if you plan on putting this in a closet with a 24" door, plan on completely removing the door frame. That is what I had to do. I built our house, so whatever. The safe is very impressive. Great capacity. The included Velcro holsters/organizers are great, but once you get below the level of the vertical dividers, they have to line up perfectly with the gaps between them or the door won't close. The lock itself is impressive; no way dumb luck is going to open these safes. Great features on the whole, so I am extremely happy with the purchase. JUST REMEMBER, THIS WON'T FIT THROUGH A 24" WIDE DOOR EVEN WITH THE SAFE DOOR AND CLOSET DOOR REMOVED - YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOOR FRAME. ... show more

    • Can't Be Beat For The Price
I did a very thorough search and read 100's of reviews, looked at all the safes available locally, and carefully compared specs on all my options. This safe rose to the top. One gripe I have, with all the safes I considered, is the absolute over statement regarding how many guns they fit. I was told to figure half the stated capacity for any gun safe...I figure that's about right. That aside, this safe is solid. I chose to go with the manual combination lock and have no regrets. The icing on the cake was free shipping, no tax, and the delivery man took it into my garage, unboxxed it, and dropped it right where I wanted it. My drive way is about 50' long and has an uphill slant. Curbside drop off would have been a nightmare. My friends are all jealous! ... show more

Couldn't be happier with this safe. Great value with the features you get that are much more money on other safes. Fit and finish is great. Ordered on a Sunday delivered on Friday.     • If I had room I would buy another.
I have a Browning of approximately the same size. I will give you the finish on the Browning is nicer. It was way more expensive. This was a back up to the Browning and as much for important items as firearms. I like the lighting in this safe. The shelves our basic but fit perfect and are easily adjusted. The shelf brackets line up. The door seals tight. It was packed perfectly for shipping. It is a bear to move (I borrowed a safe dolly and it was still work). The shipping was to be about 2 weeks - on my front porch in 3 days (they have a warehouse not far from us). I live on a dirt road. Carrier went to Google earth and approved the delivery within a minute. I am very, very happy. A friend of mine questioned the logic of buying something this big and expensive off Amazon. I had looked at one at Costco. About the same price but carrier wouldn't deliver because road wasn't paved. Glad. I like this one better! ... show more

Have no way to know when digital lock batteries are out. If you miss the low warning. Cant hear or verify in any way that the vent is working or running. Lost vent power cable because it came unplugged easily during move and was lost. It is not built in cable. That wasnt factored in rating. Well made otherwise and nice. ... show more

    • Great safe for the money
So far, so good. Roomy enough for a full length Rem. 870, if you set the top shelf high enough. Don't expect to get many guns with large optics to fit. Outlets and USB ports are a nice touch, especially if you use electrical dehumidifiers. For reference, I have a fully loaded plate carrier, a day pack camera bag in the top shelf. Two AR-15's, a 742 Woodsmaster with large optic, Rem 870, Ruger 10/22 with optic, Howa 1800 with large optic, Tar-21, another semi auto shotgun, .22 revolver on the door, a small assault pack and an ammo can, along with all important documents and heirlooms. We still have room to spare. If you're worried about having enough room, this is the safe to get. Also, there is a noticable smell at first, but this will fade with use and time. ... show more
