Don't get me wrong, these are excellent fire bricks; good price and very sturdy. It is just that you are not going to cut these to fit your specific needs with a carbide hacksaw. Nope, you are going to need an electric tile cutting saw and, even then, some patience.

These fit just right in my Quadra-fire wood stove. I only needed 2 but a couple of spares didn't cost any more than 2 of another brand. So far they are working great since I had 2 of the originals fall apart in the back of the stove.

Our fireplace was converted to gas but the burners set lower than the front guard/door. We used these to raise it up above the edge se we could better see the fire. First impressions where concerning. I opened the box and found a few chips. Fortunately the bricks where only chipped not cracked or broken. They work well and the demotions are as advertised.
