  • Works great!
We were having a problem with a fox getting our free range chickens. We decided to buy the premier electric netting fence. We have had it 1 1/2 months now. It’s working great! No more fox problems! The chickens seem very happy staying in the fence. The fence was very easy to put up. We did have a problem getting the voltage up when we first put it up. It would read 1.5. We called and talked to tech support. They had us look at the ends of the fence. On 1 end of the fence the rope was down below the plastic & was touching the metal part of the pole. Moved it up on the plastic & it has read 10.5 or higher ever since. I did charge the solar battery the night before we tried the fence. I have not charged it since. We live in Ohio & it is staying charged just from the sun. We called the customer service & a person answered the phone. We told them what our problem was & they transferred us right to a tech that solved our problem. Would highly recommend this fence! ... show more

  • No more snacks for the fox!
We were losing free range birds quite often, and I first thought it to be neighborhood dogs, but I saw the young red fox midday while sitting in the lawn chair just come blasting right by me with tunnel vision chasing a chicken. Since getting this we have lost none. I had worries they would just fly over it like they did my other fences in the past, but once they got a shock a couple of times, they keep away and do not attempt flying over. It is quite expensive, but the setup all works well. I can move the two fairly easy within an hour being careful not to snag it. I plan to switch over to a portable coop so we have more options. ... show more

  • Works great for my chickens!
My chickens stay inside this poultry net, and I don't even use the charger. Actually, I can't use the charger. Before I could hook it up, my neighbors' billy goat came and got his horns all caught up in the net. He tore it up pretty good. The goat's owner jacked up a make-shift repair job - and used up all my repair supplies. So I use the net by itself, and my hens seem to really like it. When I let them out in the yard to free range, they sometimes return to their pen on their own. Its home to them. If I was to suggest an improvement, I'd say please include double the amount of repair supplies. ... show more

  • Easy install, looks nice and has good protection
Bought to protect my raised bed garden, easy to install even with one person. Looks nice and provides protection to my raised bed garden. As a side note I have extremely rocky soil and it was a challenge to get the poles anchored, did not break any poles during the install. Well worth the investment. Also seems to hold up well to Missouri wind which is a plus. ... show more

  • Good for about 2 years
I purchased this exactly 2 years ago for a small flock of chickens I had, surrounding a coop I built myself. The fence itself has held up reasonably well, although one of the fence stakes broke off about three months ago. While some parts are a bit stretched out, the fence itself continues to be serviceable. The energizer seemed to work well during this time, also, with the solar panel supplying enough to keep the battery charged most of the time. However the energizer IS pricey compared to other brands and options and it gave out on the day the warranty expired, ceasing to provide any power to the terminal. It's very easy to install and use, but alternatives might be worth looking into especially for smaller operations given the expense and limited life of the energizer. ... show more

  • Description and Picture Displayed with Fencing
The fence itself is great. It is described as a “poultry fence”, but my chickens run through it. The picture on advertisement shows a gradual decrease in the size of the openings/spaces in the fence, so smaller animals cannot pass through. I am waiting a response from Premier One in hopes they will work with me in getting the proper fencing for my chickens. ... show more

  • It works
More difficult to keep grass off the lowest energized line than expected (spend hours trying ) Poles should be more sturdy. Maybe raise lowest hot line. Shorter fence than expected. Some leghorns jump it without flight features. Step could be improved. Nearly broke pole stepping on step and it went sideways. ... show more
