If you only need a small amount of fencing this is a good value. The quality is as good as I've gotten from big box stores: the joints are tight and the gauge is heavy enough to keep happy animals in/out. USE CAUTION when unrolling: the fencing is wound so tight that is springs open violently. It is hooked closed after every couple wraps and each time I released the "hook" it again sprang hard such that it could pinch fingers or even a whole hand. It gets only 3 stars because for novices the advertising is VERY misleading: deer easily jump over 4 feet and rabbits can go through the smaller (3" high) lower gaps and also readily dig under fences that are not buried into the ground. Even flightless chickens can get over a 47" fence, too. ... show more

I didn’t expect the wire thickness to be rigid enough for tomato cages but for the price I gave it a try. The wire worked perfect for tomato cages for my summer garden. It was easy to work with.

I am always looking for ways to make temporary paddocks for my alpacas, and "no-climb" fences are always the best way to go (if you don't have the massive movable cattle panels that you can buy from your local farm stores). Nicely packaged and twisted connections on the fence look very sturdy and no sharp edges that I could see (don't want one of my alpacas tearing open their eye or something...). This fencing wire is significantly thinner than standard woven wire field fencing. I had some of this product already, so when a storm blew trees onto a 100 ft. stretch of my goat pasture fencing, I decided to use two layers of this fencing to repair it. I wouldn't trust a single layer to hold my bucks in, and I offset the fence openings to make the openings smaller and to make it even harder for the boys to get a foothold and climb the repaired fence. The one advantage is that this fencing is much lighter than others, partly because it has thinner gauge wire and partly because the rolls are shorter. Of course my damaged fence was in the most inconvenient spot in my entire pasture. I couldn't get my tractor with its post hole digger into that area or to carry materials and tools, so I had to carry everything in by hand or hand-pulled wagon. The lighter fencing was a godsend in this situation. If you understand the limitations of this fencing, I think there is a place for it on a farm and I can recommend it. ... show more
