Blower at half speed and ceiling fan on low does a nice job of distributing the heat evenly. Blower is very noisy at high speed but not noticeable at med speed.

It is just like the ones that come on stoves that are equipped with one.

    • Didn’t meet expectations.
I was really hoping for a fan that moved much more air and would be quieter than a box fan. This is not the unit. I heat my approx 1800 sqft home with a wood burning stove and have done so for a quarter century. I have always used a regular pedestal or box fan to circulate air. This year I upgraded my heating situation, including installing this fan. It’s louder than I thought, at least as loud as previous fans. It does not move nearly as much air as I had hoped for. Finally the adjustable speed dial really only has a quarter of a turn of real functionality. Below a quarter turn or so below high (which is loud) the fan moves little to no air and only makes an electrical buzzing noise. I gave this a three because it does function more or less as advertised, however it falls far short of my (possibly unicorn level) expectations. ... show more

Why would US Stoves make a wood stove and not include the blower? Because they want to make $150 more off you for something you obviously need! The cb36 fan is loud. If you turn it down it's inconsistent- whirring up and down in sound. For the cost of this fan, it should be WAY better than it is. I put a plastic 10" fan to the side of front of my stove and blow air right across the front to heat the air and have 30% the noise of the cb36. The cb36 fan blows air from behind and up off the back and most of that heat goes straight up to the ceiling. I recommend buying 2 heat powered mini fans for the top of the stove and a medium size fan to blow at the stove... for less than half the price. ... show more
