The 36” high gate did it! He can’t crack the code! I did not want to screw into my new door molding so I just used the pressure method to install. Since my cat is not a huge heavy weight dog I’m not worried about him pushing it over. Actually the gate feels very secure with human usage. Not wobbly at all using the pressure installation option. The gate came wrapped in plastic… no scratches…. and very easy to follow instructions. The enclosed tool was very helpful. This has been the one of the best things I have bought. Great quality, looks nice, and easy to install. Plus, I have Sammy, the dog that has climbed over everything I’ve ever used to block a hallway. He’s quite impressive. Lol. So when I saw a tall and narrow gate, I felt hopeful. The combination of tall + just vertical bars (no criss cross stuff) + narrow is what I needed. Well, as soon as he approached the new gate, he realized his life as he once knew it was over. Ha! He has never even tried to get out of the room. Sorry, Sammy. Hee hee (Note: My dogs are with me all day long but when I occasionally go out, I keep them in one area.) Edit: As someone else mentioned, the gate does not come with wall protectors. Purchased this because our toddler was looking to vault the regular height baby gate. Pros: - definitely too high to jump over (for now), even for the cat - auto-close mechanism great for absent-minded parents - anti-slip mat - fits our narrow non-standard size door unlike most gates Cons: - doesn’t come with sticky pads for the ends like our safety 1st gates do. Unless you install it with the drill mount it will probably slip eventually without adhesives holding the suction cups in place. I attached them with some two-sided foam tape instead. - came with the wrong manual and wasn’t able to find the installation video on Amazon. Not a big problem since it’s not really rocket science to install a gate. ... show more

This is the only brand of baby gate in our house that hasn’t broken, fallen, or had some other issue. Appreciate the extra narrow size for my extra narrow kitchen doorway. I def recommend it- it keeps my dogs out when I want them out and hasn’t broken or fallen down when jumped on. 5 stars

The gate is very nice and sturdy. However, the anti stumble paddle was not included in the package, which is very important since there are elderly persons in my household. I contacted the seller twice via Amazon and did not receive a response back. I also requested if I could purchase two more for additional gates previously purchased. Again, no response.
